I ordered this set for a friends Christmas present. They were two pictures of her husband returning from a long deployment at the airport. The lyrics of two amazing songs were written through the pictures and i got tears from both her and her husband. They were perfect in every way and it was so pleasant working with her. I will def come back here to purchase any other printed canvases in the future. Loved them.

Janelle was fantastic to work with and did a great job helping me pick out a custom message for my countdown chalkboard frame. My husband is deployed and I know he will love his "days until....I See My Girls" frame! Thanks Janelle for excellent customer service and a gift to help my husband through this deployment!
leaving little bootprints on life's big moments
My name is Janelle and I am the very proud owner and operator of the little brown boot. My entire life, I have always had a passion for taking something simple and ordinary and transforming it into something magnificent and beautiful. My upbringing was far from perfect, and often there were times when we went without. Often being left to fend for myself I grew from a small child into a young lady very quickly. I can still remember dreaming as a hopeful little girl, of growing up and one day having the life and all of the things in it that I never had. It’s not about possessions, but the chance to reach goals and live out my very wildest dreams…the want for a home of love and security, a job where I can make a difference, and a dedicated man to share that with. I fought hard and always pushed through the hurdles life threw my way. Now a grown woman, I am so happy with where my life is and what my dedication and persistence has allowed it to become. I am beyond blessed.
When I am not using my artistic side creating items for the little brown boot, I work as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at one of the top Children’s Hospitals in the United States. I present to you dream number one, achieved and lived out each and every time I walk through those hospital doors and place my hands on those beautifully fragile babies. It is still at times unreal that I get to make such a big difference in such tiny lives. I believe in fitness and health and strive to be a life long advocate for how a balance of eating the good and working out the bad can truly change your life. I have run several marathons, am an avid fan of CrossFit, eat clean, and believe in incorporating exercise into a daily part of my life (or at least try to!). Get out and move, take in the fresh air and beauty of nature…it will make your days all that much more positive! Giving back and paying it forward are important to me as well. The little brown boot allows me to do this, as donations and fundraisers are incorporated into this small business.
So, one of the questions I have been asked when people discover the little brown boot and also the fact that I am a nurse is this: “if you have a career already, why on earth would you start a business?” One of the biggest compliments paid to me recently was when a friend said to me…”You have a big girl grown up job, and a very challenging one at that…and you also run a small business? I am amazed!” I know, I know…it sounds so crazy to want to do both. So, you may wonder…why do I do it?
I present to you, dream number two, achieved and lived out each and every time I speak his name, which is now my last name too. My husband, Tony, is a pilot in the United States Army. My entire life, I searched for what felt like “home,” and I found that in him. He is my strength, the beat in my heart and the driving force that makes me love with such great intention. He saved me and has always been an amazing support to every goal I have set in front of me. Military life is challenging and there are long periods of separation when shifts at the hospital just aren’t enough to occupy my time when he is gone. So, last fall when we were faced with an unexpected challenge, the little brown boot was born.
I have learned that in life and in family, it’s not what you were born with, but what you were blessed with. I can say with great confidence that I have been extremely blessed. And let me be proof to anyone who ever doubts to capability to overcome even life’s greatest obstacles. If I can do it, so can you. No dream is ever too big!
Thank you for supporting my business and for taking the time to read a little bit about me.

Being a military wife, Registered Nurse & small business owner keeps me busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm blessed to travel the world with my loving companion, save lives through medicine, and use my creative side here on Etsy.
We are a military family, and proudly support those who serve our country and their families. You may notice that many items are military inspired! I am a full-time Registered Nurse and have my shop as a fun and exciting side-business. This helps me to pass military time during periods of deployment or separation due to missions or general military life.
