Just make it!
The Measuring Tape is a small home-based enterprise, specializing in hand-made corsets and bespoke clothing for special events. I am a work-at-home-mom-one-woman operation. But I could not do this without the support of my family, friends and loyal customers from all over the world.
I have always been the sort to try my hand at making (and maybe improving) something I want rather than just going out to buy it. This includes food, furniture, toys for my kid when she was little, and all manner of sewn and knitted goods. It's the process of discovery which I enjoy more than anything else, and also the great satisfaction at accomplishing something that works.
To that end, I've also started teaching drafting and sewing because I want to commune with like-minded souls. If you're so inclined, I offer an online course on drafting here (see listing) and elsewhere (see blog).
