My Creative Buzz
I started my shop because I realized that I love quirky clothing and accessories, but you can't always find "off the wall" pieces at basic stores. One day it clicked that I could just try making things myself and when I discovered Etsy I knew the time was right. It took a while to find the right medium and I spent some time dabbling in tote bags and other miscellaneous crafts, but I eventually fell in love with jewelry. Of course, I've made a lot of ugly pieces along the way, but it's all one big learning process and I'm always trying to think of items that are fun and a bit silly. I am constantly exploring new areas and materials and, while they don't always wind up in my shop, The Morose Bee constantly pushes me forward in my process. Creating jewelry and accessories is such a therapeutic time for me and it's made all the more wonderful when someone is excited to purchase and own something that I've made.
I'm a Florida born girl who spent a lot of childhood free time scrapbooking, sewing with scraps, and of course spending lots of time thrifting! Now I'm living in Boston where I work at a ceramic studio and create handmade jewelry in my spare time.
themorosebee concept was originally started by me (Emily!)and my good friend Brandon in 2005 and has now developed into our combined creative vision for jewelry and, hopefully, much much more in the future.
The vintage clothing and jewelry offered is thanks to a slight obsession with seeking out thrift store and flea market gems and, as for the accessories, I try my best to create affordable items that are one-of-a-kind in design. Brandon is primarily responsible for creative input and custom designs for t-shirts (soon to come!). I make the ceramic jewelry and take care of our little shop.
Nothing is ever posted that we would not want to wear our selves. Our production stays as green as possible whether it's using salvaged clay or recycled materials for packaging.

Whenever possible, I will ship the day I receive payment, however, sometimes it may take me up to 4 business days to get to the post office. With that said, your item should take about a week to arrive at your door for domestic orders.
**International Shipping: I do not like to give estimates for international shipping. I have no problem shipping internationally at no extra charge, I just cannot guarantee how long it will take with customs.
Typically, I just use first class mail or parcel post with delivery confirmation and have never had problems doing so. Please contact me if any form of upgrade would be necessary.
