Unique Hand Knitted Items, Made in Cornwall.

We began in 2013, as a mother and daughter , attending small, local craft fairs, selling our own unique, hand knitted items. During 2013, our items became increasingly popular, leading to the formation of our facebook page and an online shop with etsy.

2014, saw the introduction of a 3rd member to our team, Shelley, who has bought her crochet skills along, to add a different dimension to our products. Shelley also sews on all our buttons and embellishments including all our wash care, name and Made in Cornwall labels.

2016 has seen further developments for The Naked Sheep. We are beginning to spin our own wool from fleeces that we have purchased and prepared ourselves. Sourcing these from local farms, to us in Cornwall.

2016 also saw the introduction of Nick, Allies husband, who has joined us in making products, whereas before he drove us to events and helped to sell at events. He is responsible for buying, washing and carding our fleeces. He also makes our Loom Knitted hats.

2016 has also been the year of our most prestigious award. We were awarded a Highly Commended award for Rising Star at the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce lunch in November. The awards were presented by Made In Cornwall, which is run by Cornwall Councils Trading Standards, and is a scheme we are proud to be part of. It verifies that all our products are Made in Cornwall.

2016 we have started to attend agricultural events within Cornwall. Selling our acrylic range.

January 2017 we have started to knit with our home spun wool. These items will be available to purchase from February 2017. There will be dyed home spun items and items that are in the natural colours of the wool.
These items will be available at the agricultural events we attend alongside us demonstrating carding and Spinning.

2017 has also seen The Naked Sheep Hayle become members of The Heritage Craft Association and The Campaign for Wool.

Summer 2018. We have started to demonstrate carding and spinning wool at Lands End, Cornwall on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On these days we are processing the wool from the sheep who live at Greeb Farm, Lands End. During the summer season we are on the farm on Tuesday and with the Greeb Farm team on the main site on Thursday. This is a great opportunity to meet the sheep who's wool we are using. We also have our home spun, hand knitted items for sale with us.

Easter 2019 will see the launch of an exclusive range of items that have been hand spun and hand knitted using the wool from Greeb Farm. These items will ONLY be available to purchase at Lands End.

As of 14 May 2019, Our Etsy shop will be closed or "on holiday" every Tuesday and Thursday.

We do not have any mobile signal when we are at Greeb Farm Lands End, and should we sell an item on line and the same item while we have it with us, there is a problem.

February 2020 we have been awarded Plastic Free Approved Status due to the fact we no longer use single use plastic items.

We only ever make one of each item in any given size, so therefore the easiest way for us to deal with orders and sales is to temporarily close our Etsy shop on the days we are at lands end. Or any other event we attend.

Were sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope you understand the reasons for it.

All of our items are individually made by hand. It is our policy to make unique, one off items. This means that when you purchase one of our items, no one else will ever have the same product in the same size or colour way.

Our items have a wash care label sewn into an inside seam. To advise of the best way to care for your item.

Items will be added to the store as and when they have been finished. Please bear with us if we take a while updating our items for sale, being produced by hand, they take a while to make.

As all our items are one of a kind, they will be sold on a first come first served basis. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is necessary to keep our items unique.

We hope you will enjoy looking at, and hopefully purchasing our items, as much as we enjoy making them.
