The Nerdy Penguin (TNP) is an independently run, handmade jewelry brand based in Monaco.
I first ventured into jewelry design in university, as a creative escape from student life. My love for jewelry design grew rapidly, and people around me began to take notice, requesting personalized gifts for friends and sets for bridal parties. Opening an online shop felt like the next natural step, and since then, I've never looked back.
My brand is about delicate, minimal, and meaningful designs. I believe that simple pieces with meaning can speak volumes. One of my favorite things is working with customers that want to create something special for someone they have in mind. Not only do I enjoy creating something personally meaningful for someone else, but I often hear back from my customers just how much their recipients loved their gifts, which makes me even happier!
I feel very connected to my work, and I'm always busy behind the scenes at TNP. From design conception, to creation, to customer service, I believe that the little details matter, and I work hard to provide my customers with an enjoyable experience and a great piece of jewelry that lasts, all at a reasonable price.

►I ship to the address provided on Etsy. Please make sure this address is correct! If you would like your order shipped to a different address, please let me know in advance or indicate the correct address in the "Note to Seller" during checkout.
►Buyers are responsible for any customs taxes/fees incurred from their country.
►Cancellations can be made anytime before your order ships, with the exception of custom orders (this includes custom-made pieces and custom chain lengths).
►For larger custom orders (5 items or more), I require a 50% initial deposit. After completing the order, I invoice for the remaining 50% before shipment.
Approximate delivery times
France: 3-5 business days
Europe: 7-10 business days
USA + Rest of World: 10-30 business days
►Contact me if you would like a tracking number, insurance, or expedited shipping for an extra fee.
►International parcels typically take 2-3 weeks to arrive. However, due to delays in customs, time of year (i.e. Christmas), or other external factors (i.e. postal strikes, weather) it can take longer. However, if you have not received your item after 6 weeks from the shipment date, please contact me so that we may discuss your options.
Should any item arrive damaged, please contact me for a refund or replacement. I may request you to provide photo proof of the damaged item(s) before proceeding with the refund or replacement.
Please be aware that your country of residence may charge a range of fees, tariffs, taxes or duties at the time of delivery. TNP does not hold responsibility for these fees. As the seller, I have no control over these fees/postal system and have no way of knowing if and when they are charged, or how much they might be. For more information, you may contact your local customs agency.

All other items are eligible for an exchange or refund, minus cost of shipping and handling.
Contact me via Etsy Conversation here (http://www.etsy.com/conversations/new?with_id=9998135) within 7 days of receiving your item. Please indicate whether you would like an exchange or refund, and the reason for return. Buyer is responsible for return shipping to me, with the item in "good-as-new" condition.
When I receive the item in the mail, I will dispatch your exchange item within 3 business days, or refund the value of the item (minus shipping) within 3 business days. Shipping cannot be refunded.
For orders outside of Europe, I accept photo proof of your return shipment to me for providing an exchange or refund (receipt of shipment + photo of jewelry).
Many factors affect the delivery time of your item (i.e. weather, customs delays, etc). However, if your item does not arrive after 6 weeks, please contact me so that we may discuss your options. For important orders, I strongly suggest using a tracked shipping method (contact me for more information).

I strive to use high-quality materials in my pieces, but some care is needed to keep them looking their best! Here are some recommendations for taking care of your jewelry:
To prevent tarnish:
-Remove before swimming, exercising or bedtime.
-Prevent direct contact with lotions or perfumes (wait till absorbed to put on your jewelry).
-Apply hair products before putting on your jewelry.
-Periodically clean your jewelry gently with a specialized cloth or old t-shirt to remove dirt and residue. Do not use paper towels or tissues (they can scratch the jewelry).
-Store in an airtight container when not in use.
-Clean any dirt or residue periodically with soft toothbrush and mild dishwashing liquid. Rinse and let dry on a towel.
-Ensure jewelry is completely dry before storing.
To brighten up dull brass, use lemon juice. Rub gently with a lemon/water solution, then rinse off all traces of lemon and allow to dry completely before storing.
