It started with a belt, back in 2009.

I had been trying a number of different traditional crafts, thinking about a hobby for when I retired. Leatherwork was the next on the list, prompted by my wife trying to persuade me to buy a new leather belt, to replace the lovely old, well worn one that I liked to wear. I decided to make my own. And that was the beginning of a love affair with this beautiful material.

I taught myself from books, videos, internet forums, and lots of hard work. The range of items that I made grew with my skills, and I began to sell more and more, until I realised that I could escape from the hum-drum existence of a 9 to 5 job, move to a tranquil area (though not so much when the gales are blowing!), and turn the hobby into a living.

So here I am, doing the thing I love, in a place I love.

I've been selling directly at local craft markets for the past few years but, with the advent of Covid, I have now moved to concentrate on online sales.
