  • About

I have always been a creator. From the time I was a little girl when my Great Grandma taught me to needlepoint and a few years later my Aunt taught me to cross stitch. My need to create beautiful things runs deep in my soul.

The Old White Shed was named after a little shed that was on my Grandparents' farm. I little shed that I remember fondly - it stored all kinds of things, from outdoor toys - trucks and softballs and bats and bikes, to gardening supplies that my Grandma used. I would open that shed door and the light would flood into it, illuminating all of the treasures you might find inside. I named my business The Old White Shed so that I would never forget those peaceful moments on their farm and the feeling of excitement I would get when I opened that shed door and the light shined in. It's now the same feeling I get when I step inside my craft room - located on an old porch of my own farmhouse. I step in and light floods the room and my ideas come to life!

Many of our signs are created on reclaimed barn wood. I love working with this wood as it's got it's own story to tell. There are dents and dings, nail holes from nails that a farmer years ago drove in by hand. Those old barns were built with pride, love and a whole lot of hard work. Much like the signs I create today. I create with pride, love and hard work.

Enjoy looking around my shop! Know that you won't be disappointed in what you see! I hope that when you purchase something from me it also brings you a feeling of excitement and joy.
