For the love of sewing...

The name, The Pink Rose Boutique, is inspired by my Grandma. My inspiration and the one I can give the credit to for teaching me how to sew. When I was little I can remember going to her house and making blankets for my dolls, pillow cases, little dresses, and also hand embroidery. As I got into high school, I did not sew as much, it was easier to just take my clothes to Gram if I needed something fixed.

It was after having my first child, Taylor, that I really felt inspired to start making things again. My mom bought me a sewing machine for my birthday and I had Gram come over every week to sit with me while I sewed. Bows, dresses, blankets, shirts... You name it, I tried my hand at making it. And I loved it! I love watching a pile of fabric transform into something that is usable!

Fast forward two years, and I started to think that I could take what I was sewing for my family and friends, and share it with the rest of the world. On April 18, 2013, I opened my Etsy shop, and on April 21, I sold my first camera strap cover! I had a steady flow of orders from April until summer. Camera strap covers, personalized shirts, and aprons were my top sellers. In May I made my first nap mat cover as a gift for my nephew's 1st birthday. Little did I know that those would become my best sellers over the course of the next few months! I received so many orders, I had to close the shop for a month just to catch up. Within that first year of being open, I was able to save enough money to purchase an embroidery machine. The world of embroidery was new to me, but I was excited to be able to add that personalized touch to my handmade items. I have loved every minute of owning my new machine! It is just what I hoped it would be, and more. Currently in the shop, I am offering the same camera strap covers, nap mat covers, shirts, and dresses that I made before; but now you have the option to add extremely cute monogramming to them. The best of both worlds! :)

This April will be the 2 year anniversary mark of The Pink Rose Boutique, and I could never have imagined how much my shop would grow to this day. I am so truly thankful to be able to work from home, doing something that I LOVE. I have been able to help support my family, while still being able to stay home with my precious kids. God has blessed this shop, and I am truly thankful for Him bringing the most wonderful customers my way!

Thank you to my current customers, and welcome to anyone new stopping by!
