About

Vintage cufflinks/pinbacks get NEW LIFE thanks to The Pin Project

It was 1939 and the New York World’s Fair was in full bloom. A little boy was seeing some of the world’s greatest new inventions like television to the masses and the very first x-ray machine. The little boy wanted to remember that day forever and so he bought a pin to wear to compliment this new memory. Years past and that once so special pin ended up in an old drawer somewhere behind some old baseball cards and coins. I often wonder how many times he held that pin during his long life and thought back to that day in 1939. He must have cared about it enough to save it all these years. Flash forward to today and the grandchildren are going through his things. They see this old pin and toss it in the ‘donate’ pile not thinking twice about the history it once had and the memories their grandfathered cherished as a boy.
Introducing THE PIN PROJECT. Just like this pin, there are many untold stories in these seemingly useless pins and I intend on giving them a new purpose; a NEW LIFE! They still have a story to tell and I want to get that story out by making beautiful one of a kind necklaces and earrings that are affordable and unique. I get so excited when I find a new pin and I can’t wait to research the history behind it. That is another thing that makes The Pin Project so special and unique; each piece comes with a history of the piece. It makes the necklace that much MORE special when they get to read about where their pin came from.
I am reaching out to you to help spread the word. The Pin Project was born from curiosity and continues to excite me (as I am always finding new pins to work with and research).
Help me give these pins a new purpose and a new life!
