The Polka Dot Tot Spot... my little sewing haven!

Hello! My name is Heather! I live in a small town in central Illinois. This is where I grew up and plan to stay! I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have two super kiddos, a son, Jayden, who is 14 and my daughter, Julia, who is 8 (but thinks she is 16!)

I started sewing when I was a teenager. My aunts are talented quilters and taught me every thing I needed to get started in my sewing journey and I figured the rest out as I went along. When my daughter Julia was born, I thought it would be fun to make her some handmade toys and clothing. I had so much fun with it I decided to try selling online. I tried out a few websites, but once I found Etsy my little hobby blossomed into my daily job! And I love every minute of it!!!

I love bright, cheery, (sometimes wild) fabrics and I think they are super for little bright and cheery children! Everything in my shop is designed and created by my own two hands. My favorite part of my shop is coming up with new creations! I am blessed that I have customers who like my toys and clothing enough to purchase them, which in turn allows me the pleasure of working my own hours and from home!

This past winter I remodeled my sewing studio. I had a tiny little space in a back room of my basement and now (although still in the basement) it is a big room and full of sunlight! I feel at home and relaxed when I am here!
