HANDMADE: All the items listed in the The Pen & Paper Company Shop are handmade. We use a printer for any lined items and a hole punch to apply spirals. Everything else from the covers to the cuts is done by hand with love.
MEDIA MAIL: We offer USPS media mail because it is an economical option for our customers. However, please be advised that it is also one of the lowest priority forms of postage. We have seen extended pre-transit times - in some cases, as long as 10+ days before a package is placed in transit. Once we drop your package, we have no control over how quickly the postal service will begin transporting them. If you need your package by a certain date, please consider priority mail when placing your order.

It came along with a white gel pen, a handwritten thank you note from the maker/owner, and a neat insert explaining the company and what it means to the owner. It’s wonderful. I am also a maker/small business owner and I’m always happy to support other small businesses in this crazy world we live in. I was drawn to this because I have always loved the look of a white pen on black paper and I love black everything. I wear black, I drive a black car. (I also love colors but black has always been my favorite!) The notebook is a great size, 8.5 x11, and has a nice weight to it that makes it feel as premium as it looks. It’s lovely and I love that both the front and back covers are all solid black and rigid. Even the spiral wire is black! So cool! Thank you!

I journal all the time but saw this idea of using black paper but my journals must be spiral bound so this was perfect, I couldn’t find anything like it. I will buying more from your shop very soon! Thanks for the sweet note as well. I HIGHLY recommend this shop and trying to journal on black paper. The white and gold pens included are such a nice touch. Thanks again. 💜

Why is your processing time so long?
When items are shown as in stock, in many cases it means we have the materials to make them. While some items are made and ready to ship, in most cases, items are not bound until an order is placed for it. The additional processing time is to handcraft covers and bind your item as ordered.
What do you mean by handcrafted?
The only machine used in our process to create our items is a single Akiles manual spiral punch machine. From cutting paper to board insets and wrapping covers, each of our products are crafted by hand.
