I was born in South Africa, a beautiful country.
Beauty has always been vital to me; it feeds my soul and enables me to create.
The strongest influences on my work are the color and light of the impressionists.
When I view the world I see vivid color, subtle nuances of color and the relationship of one color with another.
I love working in acrylic because it allows me to explore color without limitations.
Flowers are a favorite subject of mine,
I find their colors intoxicating and their beauty uplifting.
I moved to America in 2002 and I have been captivated and inspired by the intense beauty of each season.
My goal is to bring joy to others through my art.
I was located in New Jersey for the first 7 years of our move to the US. I was kept busy painting murals and working part time in a shop painting designs on furniture. Since relocating to California in 2009 I have had to start afresh. Etsy was a great way to start, the first year was slow going and my family encouraged me to persevere, It has now become my dream job, I get to paint for wonderful customers who become friends and repeat customers.I love the personal touch of the conversations, I love talking to customers and adding their unique touches to each gift!
I so enjoy making practical things beautiful.I hate clutter so a lot of my products are things that one needs close at hand just beautified.I have chosen to work mostly on wooden and canvas surfaces because they are long lasting. Everything I do is hand painted by myself. I will repeat designs on request but with hand painting please understand that it will not be an exact replica.
