Welcome to The Private Party! We are two sisters who live in the best city in the world, Portland Oregon. PR wizzes, writers, designers, photographers - two can who spot and appreciate amazing vintage. We love everything about vintage - the quality, the style, the history, and the fact that it is so much more eco-friendly than buying new. Happy shopping!

We accept payment via Paypal. If you are a Paypal member you can pay with a credit card or bank account, but you can also via Paypal with any major credit card even if you are not a Paypal member. Please pay for your item at checkout or within 24 hours. If we do not receive payment within 24 hours the item will be re-listed. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please convo us prior to purchase and we can try to work something out. We are happy to reserve an item for 48 hours!
Items are generally shipped out within 48 hours after order & payment is received. As of now our standard method of shipping is USPS Priority Mail (exceptions may occur with very heavy items such as large coats or heavy boots which may ship via Parcel Post in order to keep shipping costs down).
We ship to the address provided on your Paypal invoice, so if you need us to ship to an alternate address please provide it in the "message to seller" field during checkout.
We do gift wrap, so if something is a gift let us know and we will be happy to wrap it for an additional $2.00 per item or $5.00 for 2 or more items.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Please always contact us for specific shipping rates for your country. We generally ship international orders via USPS First Class International economy mode, which is the least expensive but also the slowest. If you'd like a faster shipping option, please specify that!
Because of the riskier nature of international orders, we do not generally offer refunds or exchanges and also do not accept any responsibility for orders lost in transit. Because of that it is really important that you check sizing very carefully and ask all the questions you need to ask to feel comfortable with your purchase before ordering.
We love international customers and are happy to answer any questions you have or provide you with additional photos :)
Refunds and Exchanges
Note: Please contact us first if there is a problem with your order or if you are not happy with the condition of any item you receive before leaving feedback! We strive to provide excellent service to our customers and appreciate an opportunity to remedy any difficult situation if possible :)
Condition: Most vintage items show some signs of wear due to age and use. We do our best to look over each item and notice any major flaws or issues and will always note this information in each listing. We also try to give you an idea with our photos of any condition issues. However, please do not expect the item to be in brand-new or perfect condition unless noted. If you need more photos or more information about any item, please convo us with your request prior to ordering. We generally do not wash items before shipping out unless they are soiled in some way, so it is recommended to wash before wearing. All items are carefully inspected and lint/spots removed before shipping out. Shoes and other items are cleaned as needed.
Sizing: Vintage sizing can be very different from modern sizing, so it is important to carefully note the measurements of any item and compare them to your own to determine fit! If you need any additional measurements or more info about a particular piece, please feel free to convo us with any questions prior to ordering!
At this time, we do not offer any refunds based on condition or size unless there is a major discrepancy between the way the item was listed/represented in our shop and what you receive (i.e. measurements are way off, a MAJOR flaw was overlooked). In this case, please convo us and we can try to work something fair out. We always want our customers to feel happy and satisfied with their purchase from our shop!
Exchanges or store credit are available if within 3 business days. Buyer is responsible for return shipping and shipping for new item.
We feel confident we can do business in a way that is fair and pleasant both for us and our customers. Before leaving negative feedback, please convo us so we can iron out any potential issues. However, please try to be fair and honest - If we feel like we are engaged with a dishonest buyer we may have to halt communication and report the transaction to Etsy. Hopefully all our buyers will be wonderful human beings and we can do honest business. Thanks!

There's no downside to supporting vintage shops on Etsy - You get great, original clothing for a great price (that is often better quality than new). At the same time, you're supporting small business and doing your part for the planet by re-using clothing.
