Hello - welcome to The Recycling Ethic. Our passion is for original, one-of-a-kind art pieces from unknown and little known artists from the mid 20th century in California, bringing old works of art to new homes.

If you're looking for works by a particular artist or a particular kind of art to complement your living space, please message us with details. We're often finding unique pieces, and would love to help you shape the look of a room at home, an office space, or an outdoor garden wall.

Personal delivery available in and around California for large and fragile pieces that need extra attention. If you're interested in personal delivery, please message us before purchasing with your location and time frame. We also offer pick up in Central California and worldwide shipping.

Checks, money order, and cashier's checks - please contact directly for specific instructions before purchasing.

Online payments (i.e. Paypal, credit and debit cards, e-check, Etsy Direct Checkout) are expected within 24 hours of purchase and can take 4-6 business days to clear.

Pay-Pal, credit and debit cards, and Etsy gift cards accepted through Etsy Direct Checkout.

Mailed payments are expected within one week of purchase. Tracking and other information may be requested on a mailed payment at the shop's discretion. Shipments will be mailed within 3 business days of a cleared payment. A check may take up to 3 weeks to clear.

Shipping
Combined shipping is available. It must be calculated based on the particular items and your location. Contact us with the items you're interested in and your location and we will send you a quote.

All items available for local pick up in Central California. Possible delivery in Western US for a fee - please contact for details with your location and time frame.

Most items will be shipped within 3 business days after payment clears.

Shipments may be slightly delayed over major holidays.

We use USPS First Class, Priority, Priority Express, and Parcel Ground, UPS Ground, and FedEx Ground, depending on the size and type of package and insurance needs. If you need a shipment expedited, please contact us with your timeline and location. Shipping times vary by carrier. If you'd like to use a business account (e.g. you have a FedEx account), please contact us with details.

All shipping quotes reflect a handling fee to partially compensate for fees, shipping insurance, signature confirmation, time, and packaging costs.

All items will have tracking. Items over $150 may include shipping insurance and/or signature confirmation at the shop's discretion.

Some larger items must be shipped by freight. Please contact us if you're interested in a larger piece so we can obtain a quote for your location. You may also research freight quotes and send them to us. A handling fee will apply.

International customs: Customs charges are determined by the receiving country. The buyer is responsible for all customs charges. Customs charges can typically be estimated prior to purchase. Some countries place restrictions on artwork-research customs for artwork before purchasing.

Refunds and Exchanges
Vintage items are all pre-owned items in various states of wear. It is the customer's responsibility to read the listing description before purchasing. Ask any and all questions before purchase.

Contact us via Etsy messages within 24 hours of delivery if there was a significant error in the listing description. We will accept returns in the event there was a significant misrepresentation of the item you ordered. The item must be sent back with insurance within three business days of tracked delivery.

Customers must contact us directly through Etsy Messages identifying, describing, and verifying the issue, and receive a confirmation email with return instructions from us before returning the item. The item must be carefully packaged and returned in original condition for a full refund.

Refunds will be provided via the original payment method within seven days.

If a package is damaged or lost through shipment, the customer is responsible for working with the seller to file a claim through the shipping company for insurance reimbursement.
