What a lovely notebook!! I bought it as a gift for a cat loving friend. It was a pleasure giving away such a well done handcrafted notebook, that was also beautifully presented.

So lovely and the artist even adjusted the title on the mat since I'm a greyhound owner. :) Can't wait to get it back from the frame store!

Even better looking in person. Wonderful artist to talk to and work with. At the frame shop and then under the Christmas tree! Thanks

About

We're all mad here...

Did you ever want to send a card just to let someone know you were thinking of them? To send a note to remind them of the time you took that walk through the English countryside and the sheep were curious enough to approach you as you passed through their fields?
Or send a gift that transports you back to the seaside during your holidays when you found that restaurant that served starfish shaped pancakes? Or send a little artwork to remind them of their favourite cat, the one that adopted them by mewing loudly on their porch?

My greetings cards and hand-cut artwork encourage you to remember your stories.

My papercuts are typically modern animal silhouettes, but I do occasionally delve into other natural subjects like archaeology and trees. Silhouettes seem familiar, but are rendered offbeat and quirky by the use of salvaged maps and unexpected materials. I enjoy blurring the lines between traditional and contemporary, quirky and elegant, reality and imagination.

Each layered papercut provides a tactile experience. The layers echo contour lines, appealing to those of us who have a love affair with maps. The weight just feels nice in your hands.
The style of artwork is contemporary, elegant and simple. They are packed and shipped with a simple ribbon and recycled or upcycled packing materials to reduce our impact on the earth.

I want you to smile when you receive a Red Corvid papercut.

I'm an ex-pat American who made my way to rural North Yorkshire, England via Lancaster, PA and Santa Fe, NM, meeting my husband along the way. All those pictures you see of the English countryside? They're all true.

I am happy to see you in my little corner of the web! Here you will find some fantastic greetings cards, notebooks, gift tags, and hand-cut artworks based on the flora and fauna surrounding me in North Yorkshire, England.

The layered card stock I use is recycled, 280gsm and is cut using a scalpel. Slight variations in the paper itself are to be expected, and only add to the piece's character, beauty, elegance, and individuality. Individual computer monitors display colours differently; therefore, your order may be slightly different in colour from what you see on the screen.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept Paypal as a method of payment, and full payment is taken at the time of checkout. You do not need a Paypal account, only a debit or credit card.

All prices are stated in British Pounds (GBP) at the full price. Shipping fees are clearly displayed during the checkout process. No VAT is added to the price, as The Red Corvid is not a VAT registered company.
Shipping
All of the pieces are shipped, from England, within 3-5 days of receiving payment. I ship using Royal Mail first class in the UK and Airmail internationally. Please note, the buyer is responsible for any International Taxes (custom duty fees) that may be incurred, over and beyond shipping fees.

It typically takes about one to three weeks to post items from the UK to the US.

If you want extra insurance or tracking on your package, please let me know at the time of your order, and I will let you know what the extra cost may be.

I will do my best to package all items to weather the postal system storm. But, should anything arrive damaged, please let me know, and I can offer a refund or similar replacement.
Refunds and Exchanges
I always hope that you are as happy with your purchase as I am creating it.

However, if you are not satisfied, you have the Right To Cancel within 14 days from the time you receive the goods. You are responsible for getting the item(s) back to me, within 14 days of your decision to cancel. You are also responsible for the shipping costs you may incur when returning the item(s) to me. Please complete the Model Cancellation Form that you will receive with your original order, and include it with your return. If you cannot locate this form, contact me at curious [!at] theredcorvid.co.uk, and I will email you one. The return address is stated below. ( Here is a link to the Model Cancellation Form ~ http://www.theredcorvid.co.uk/Model_Cancellation_Form_2014.pdf )

I will then refund your original payment, including your initial order’s standard shipping costs (expedited shipping costs are not refunded), within 14 days of receiving the goods back from you, as long as your item is returned in its original condition.

If the item(s) are returned damaged, I will have the right to deduct a percentage of your refund to account for the diminished value and the cost to repair the item for resale.

I can also offer an exchange, with the knowledge that there are slight variations in the paper and the card may be slightly different from the one you originally purchased.
