About

It All Started With Painting...

I started this shop in 2013 after receiving my BFA in Illustration from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. While looking around for any opportunity I could that would lead to steady work I decided I would start my own art and handmade business.

I listed my first item which was a hand painted TARDIS suncatcher on plexi glass and that was it for a long time. The listing expired and I worked at some part time jobs for a while trying to save some money. My shop sat empty, all but forgotten for about a year and a half. While I was working to grow my savings a little I was scheming in my mind about what I could do to also grow my business and gain a clientele.

I eventually moved into a new apartment and set up shop. I took over the main living area with my huge desk and made a little workshop for myself. I was just doing my paintings for a while and all was well and good. My subject matter is usually a bit more on the side of surrealism so I wasn't sure if that would be enough to get the attention from my potential customers. I decided to expand a bit into handmade accessories like bottle cap jewelry. In the beginning I just did my own art in the bottle caps but then I expanded into lots of pop culture stuff. I've been working on creating more pop culture themed earrings and pendants and I find it really fun to make earrings that relate to the things that I enjoy like Doctor Who and David Bowie and so on. I went out and sold in person at various craft and antique shows and found that people really enjoyed my creations.

As of now I am working on new illustrations and continuing to expand my offerings so that every one who visits my store can find something to enjoy.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

While my bottle cap jewelry is very resilient I highly recommend not wearing it in the shower or sleeping with it on. If you bottle cap has a finger print on the resin then just clean it off with a clean cotton shirt or eyeglass cloth.

Care instructions

My prints are archival and shouldn't fade or yellow because of the materials they are made of but I would recommend not placing them on a wall that the sun shines on directly. The harsh light of the sun can cause colors to fade over time.

On another note if you purchase a print and opt to mat and frame it yourself do not use regular tape. The tape may have acids in it which will cause yellowing over time. The prints themselves are archival but if you do not take care they will not remain that way. I recommend going to a professional framer or I use americanframes.com for my paintings. They are very convenient and the frames go together easily and look really nice.

Wholesale availability

If you are interested in purchasing a large quantity of bottle cap jewelry I can easily sell that to you at wholesale prices. My minimum would be 50 pieces and you can mix and match but there has to be at least 10 of each design. So for example if you want 50 pieces you could buy a maximum of 5 designs in that order and of course if you'd like 50 of one design that is acceptable too.

I can use any image of your choosing in the creation of the bottle cap jewelry or accessories. Available items are pins, necklaces, magnets, and earrings.

These would make great party favors or wedding favors or you can even sell them in your own store and I can package them for any purpose for an additional charge.

Send me a message with any questions.

Care instructions

For my bags I recommend spot cleaning or gentle hand washing only using a little dish soap or detergent. Some of them are made from mixed fabric types and putting in the washing machine may warp them but you can try it if you want to take the risk. I definitely would not recommend putting them in a dryer. Let your bag air dry flat to retain its shape.
