About

Where industrial meets romance...

Nothing excites me more than taking something as utilitarian as sheet metal and turning it into a sweet little pendant.

I'm having the time of my life exploring different ways that I can manipulate metal and turn it into something sweet and romantic, while keeping it's industrial edginess.

I'm a mixed-media artist, and the various steps that my paintings go through before they are done, requiring lots of drying time in between stages. I was looking for ways to use up my creative energy in different ways, partly for something to do during 'drying time' and partly to something a little 'gritty'. For me, painting is relaxing, 'soft' and still.

My jewelry gives me a chance to hammer, bend metal into shapes, play with a bit if fire from my torch. I'm standing, I'm making noise, I'm transforming something from the hardware store into a girly piece of jewelry. I'm a Gemini - how could I resist the chance to have it both ways?

I hang my artwork in an award winning gallery, here in Florence OR. Once in a while I put some in my other etsy shop: www.artwerx.etsy.com but I put all my jewelry here, in The Romantic Relic shop.

If you are still awake, thanks for hanging in there reading this :)

I'm a mixed-media artist living on the sand dunes of the Oregon coast. I've been doing art all my life, and most recently have fallen in love with working with metal. It's really exciting to take raw materials and turn them into something finished.

Shop policies

Last updated on October 21, 2013
This shop is new on etsy, but I'm not a new seller. Some of my jewelry rotates on display at a local gallery, so if it sells there, I have to pull it from Etsy, so all my transactions don't take place here. If you would like to see my artwork or see my 100% positive feedback from that shop, please visit www.artwerx.etsy.com.

Additional policies and FAQs
JEWELRY CARE: Please do not use any liquid or paste polishes on the jewelry I've created because it will interfere/remove the patina I've placed on each item. A soft polishing cloth and a gentle touch is all that's needed.
Although my jewelry can handle an errant raindrop, please don't wear it in the shower, skinny dipping, scuba diving, etc.
