Clawing my way out of recession and depression to wonderful knitting
My shop was born in 2009, in the middle of the recession. My husband is a self-employed gardener, who does a lot of hard landscaping, fencing and so on. His work was seriously drying up, and I was thinking hard about what I could do to help.
Two years previously, I had my second nervous breakdown and eventually had to give up work, so getting a "normal" job wasn't an option. I felt strongly that I really needed to do something, and it had to be from home. I remembered how much I'd loved to knit in my teens, and decided to see if I could sell things that I'd made. A friend told me about Etsy, and so here I am!
When people started to buy things from my shop, it gave me a huge boost of confidence and self esteem. Also, working with the wool, choosing colours, and coming up with new items to make, has really released my creative side, and changed how I feel about myself! I can honestly say that knitting has helped me to recover from depression!
I now have a physical illness that limits what I can do called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so am at home a lot, but I always have my needles at hand and spend several hours each day knitting away. It gives me so much pleasure and I love to create beautiful things.
My shop is changing from how it was originally. At first, I focused on small things that I could make quickly and that people could use to decorate coats and hats, or wear in their hair. I have a nice selection of winter accessories and homewares too. Now I am focusing on lacy wraps and luxury items. This is so much fun for me to make, I am enjoying working on these items so much! And they are absolutely beautiful, I am sure that the people who will wear them will absolutely love them, and get great pleasure from wearing one. I sold my first lace wrap in December 2013 and the lady is delighted with it and has told me how lovely she thinks it, so I'm sure that the others I have ready will also prove to be popular!
The future looks bright for The Sequinned Sheep, and that is all thanks to my wonderful customers. I try to give each one a great, personal service, and create items that they will really love and enjoy. I love to interact with my customers and specialise in creating items in any colour or size, so that each person can have exactly what they want. If you see something in my shop that you like, but would prefer a different colour or size, then just let me know, and I'll make it for you!
Thank you to everyone that has helped me to reach this point, and please continue to check for the new items I'll be adding to my shop soon!

Additional policies and FAQs
My items are carefully made and last a long time, but accidents happen! So if sequins get snagged and fall off, or a flower becomes unravelled, then contact me and I will do all I can to repair the item. This does depend on me having sequins or wool in the right colours to do repairs. If I can't do the repair, please contact me about an exchange for another item and I will do my best to accomodate you.
