What do I do with all of this gorgeous vintage fabric?

I started selling on Etsy in 2007, when I opened my first shop: That shop is still going strong, designing, making, and selling stained glass and fused glass jewelry. Go check it out if you have time!

My new shop got started more recently. Last year, my mom taught me how to quilt, as if I needed another hobby! That resulted in my recent obsession with quilting, and has filled my art studio with fabric and projects of all kinds. Then I was introduced to vintage sheet fabric and fell instantly in love with the soft feel and retro patterns that you can't often find in modern fabrics. I started visiting every thrift shop, searching and digging for the most unique vintage bed sheets I could find. Well, now I have way more fabric than I can ever use for myself, so I decided to open The Sheet Shop!

I only select sheets that are in great condition. I sanitize them in my washing machine, then I rip and cut them into different sizes, generally oversized fat quarters, at least 19x23 inches. I sell larger yardages if requested, and if I have enough in stock. Vintage sheets are great for any sewing project, but are really the best for making super soft, cozy quilts. So if you love to quilt or sew, give vintage fabric a try! You might just fall in love like I did. I can't wait for you to see all of the great colors and patterns over at my new fabric shop, so go check it out!

Additional policies and FAQs
More info about my vintage sheets:
-I scour thrift shops near and far to find the most unique, high quality vintage sheets for use in my shop. I don't use sections of fabric that are extremely worn/faded, torn, or have stains that can not be removed. Some wear, fading, and imperfections are expected, however. Remember, some of this fabric is almost fifty years old!
-All vintage fabric is thoroughly washed, sanitized and deodorized before cutting. I rip the sheets on the grain where possible for more accurate sizing.
-Fat Quarters are typically cut to at least 19"x23", though they are often bigger than that. Exact measurements will be included in each item description.
-Anything larger than a fat quarter is measured in 1/8's of a yard. I try my best to cut pieces that are as close as possible to the standard yardage measurements that you would purchase in a fabric shop. But since sheets are not the standard 45 inches wide, I will often calculate the yardage by square inches to maximize the use of the sheet.

For example:
-Standard 1/2 Yard off the bolt = 18"x45" = 810 sq in
-Vintage Fabric Oversized 1/2 Yard = 24"x38" or 25"x37"or 26"x38" etc. = >900 sq in
-I will always err on the side of the customer. In other words, I will never call something a 1/2 yard if it is not at least 810 square inches. A piece of fabric that is 800 square inches will be called an Oversized 3/8 Yard, so you are always getting more than the standard!

Custom Orders:
Contact me if you would like a different yardage of fabric cut. I sometimes have more of each sheet left and can cut a larger piece for you. Just ask, and I'll check my inventory. :)
