We are a husband and wife team, from Indianapolis and California's Bay Area respectively. When we were teenagers we met on Myspace and quickly became great friends, a year later, when we finally met in person we promptly became a couple and got into a car wreck within hours. Aleigh was hospitalized the majority of Peter's visit, but after a few months of healing, and graduating High School I, Aleigh, went to visit Indianapolis and meet Peter's family. We have since, gotten married, beaten cancer, adopted our two beautiful children, and started this shop based on our mutual love of books.
Between the four of us we have the four Hogwarts houses very much covered. I am Aleigh, the Ravenclaw grew up loving Harry Potter, mermaids, and all things fairy tales. I constantly had a book with me, even at family dinners. Peter, the Hufflepuff, grew up on Percy Jackson and has a great love of myths and magic. Our daughter is fierce and extremely cunning- most definitely a Slytherin and our son is brave and friendly and thoroughly encompasses the traits of a Griffindor.
This shop started out as not only a creative outlet for me, but also a way to share my love of books and all things bookish with as many people as I could. The idea for tea struck me when I was reading A Court of Mist and Fury for the first time, and was introduced to Mor. She was described as smelling of cinnamon, and eating an orange- and the idea to base a tea off that character and her description hit me, hard and fast. I think it should be noted that I didn't have any experience blending tea, and had no idea what I was doing at first. To be honest that's how I do most things, I jump in with both feet and learn as I go, and I am so fortunate to have an extremely supportive partner, who always encourages me to go for whatever impulsive idea pops into my head. Peter now processes all of your orders and helps manage the shop, but he also reads lots of books and helps with character descriptions and tea tasting.
