About

From Painting to Portrait Photography with a Whistle Stop in the Past

I've always felt inside like I'm older than my years. When other kids were playing with toys, I was collecting antiques. When other women in high school were aflutter over the latest gossip, I was engrossed in old magazines and books. Consequently, as an artist and photographer, I have taken most of my inspiration from the past: it's my jumping off point and in many cases, my end point as well.

I started The Stapelia Company back in 2008 as an art and card shop with a dark twist. Inspired by the work of Ray Bradbury, H.P Lovecraft and others, my initial work had a dark but funny side. As time went on, I started adding photography to the mix, never for a moment thinking that would be where I would end up. About a year and a half ago, I found myself creating original art and photography and it was a lot. I decided to focus on the photography. I had released my Cigar, Creeper & Dark Circus and Sideshow series and my Zom-B-Vex Series to positive reviews, so I focused on funny, vintage photography and dove in.

Now, a year and a half after making that decision, I have my own photography studio where I shoot my work and meet with clients. I have met so many great people (makeup artists, models, costumers, clients, fans, even a classic car collector!), and I have had so many great opportunities to create fresh, unique work. I am working harder than ever and I'm happier than ever with the work I'm creating. I love creating pieces that feel familiar and old, but have that little twist at the end. That's my thing. I hope when you see my photography it makes you smile, because that's why I made it.

Some of my work is for sale in my shop as fine art prints and the rest can be viewed on my Facebook page (where I post all of my newest work):

In addition to my Stapelia shop, I just opened STAG here on Etsy, a shop full of highly curated vintage men's clothing & goods (and even some pieces from my shoots).

I always welcome convos, suggestions, comments, new commissions and new clients so feel free to say hello at any time!

I ship my packages at least twice a week and sometimes more often depending on sales volume. I am not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail, but I am happy to add insurance if you like.

I ship via usps first class mail, which takes roughly 2-5 days. Please contact me if you are interested in upgrading to priority or express shipping.
INTERNATIONAL
I generally use first class international mail, which takes roughly 5-14 days. You may also upgrade to priority mail international or express mail international if you'd like--just ask and I'll figure out the charge. Also, you are responsible for any duty your country may charge you.
