About

Just a girl with a hammer...

Established in 2013, I started hand stamping and selling my products online though my Etsy shop. I had just joined the Etsy community a year earlier, and quickly found out how huge the marketplace was.

What is Hand Stamping?

Simply put, I use a hammer and metal stamps to make an impression of a design or letter in a piece of metal. Each piece is one of a kind. There are no machines other than me and my hand tools.

Every piece is hand stamped to order one letter or design at a time. Its taken a few years to develop my skill and each piece I send out as if I were going to wear it myself. My current setup includes this 1 pound brass hammer and 6" steel bench block. This large metal stamp is one of many I have, and each have there own unique method to getting that perfect impression. You are not only buying a piece of jewelry, but a piece of art as well.

There are so many tools and techniques one could acquire to this kind of work. It is never ending. Just when you think you've seen or stamped it all, you get another idea, which turns into a dozen more. Some are truly one hit wonders, as I seem to never be able to replicate it again, while others are classic and customer favorites I can enjoy creating again and again.

This is my full time job. I love it, and I hope to continue it for as long as I can stay creative. Thank you for stopping by and shopping handmade.

I started this shop as a hobby, now it's my full time job. I do it all in a tiny work space, from designing to shipping.

Frequently asked questions

Shipping Options

At checkout you will have 2 options for shipping, First Class or Priority Mail. Each are services provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Once an item is shipped, shipping fees are non refundable.

United States Residents:
First Class is the cheapest method, taking any where from 3-10 days for delivery depending up your location. If you choose Priority Mail, USPS guarantees delivery within 3 days.

International Residents:
First Class is the cheapest option for international shipping. Delivery times will vary depending upon customs, country, and import taxes. Typical time for delivery is 2 weeks, but can take up to 8 weeks in remote locations. I no longer ship to Mexico.

Shipping Issues

I cannot control the mail carrier's actions. Insurance is available at checkout for every order. I will do what I can to help.

If your package is lost, first and foremost, I highly recommend you contact your local post office. Tracking is provided on your receipt, and emailed to you as soon as the label is printed off. Lost packages do not equal automatic refunds.

International Lost Packages
Tracking outside the USA is uncommon. If your package is lost overseas, I cannot help locate it. Customs and wrong addresses are generally the no.1 reason for failed delivery.

Reshipment of items will require a second shipping fee to be paid by the customer, as this is a USPS service. Packages returned due to refusal of delivery will not be refunded.

Care instructions

All metals:
Avoid jewelry cleaner, as this can do more harm than good. Avoid chemicals (including soap), perfumes, oils, and household cleaners. Aluminum, brass, and copper do not rust. Brass and copper will darken and tarnish if left unclean and come in contact with moisture.

Aluminum: Polish with a non abrasive cloth. Water and soap is safe, but may dull the finish if left unpolished.

Brass or Copper:
A sample Sunshine Pro Polishing cloth (available on Amazon!) is provided with your order along with an anti tarnish tab good for 6 months. Avoid any moisture and chemicals as this will turn the metal black or shades of green. Your skin may also turn green (not harmful), when worn for long periods of time.

All metals are pure. Nickel free.

Letters Fading and Touch Ups

All of my jewelry is darkened with a Sharpie brand permanent marker. This is the industry standard. I am always trying to come up with longer lasting or a more permanent solution, especially with Aluminum.

To recolor your jewelry, use any permanent marker to fill in the letters. Once finished, you can use a small amount (a few drops will do), of rubbing alcohol and wipe away the excess ink. A quick, firm motion over the letters will usually do the trick.

Brushed finish needing touching up? In most cleaning aisles, with the kitchen sponges, the abrasive, green, Scotch Brite pads will bring it back to new. Go in one direction over the entire piece and wipe off with a alcohol pad or paper towel. Recolor the letters, and voila!

Gifts

All orders come in a simple gift box. They will have my shop logo on them. No receipts are ever shipped with an order. I am more than happy to add a small note to any order.

If you have any special requests not mentioned, please send me a message through Etsy convo.

Order Issues

If there is a problen with your order, before or after its arrival, please let me know.

Everything is made to order, I do not keep a back stock. If you require a replacement, or need to simply swap ring sizes, please message me before returning an item so I know to expect it. Custom pieces are nonrefundable, no exceptions.

Before leaving a negative review or opening a case with Etsy, please consider messaging me first, as this is the fastest way for me to resolve any issue.
