An amazing picture from an amazing client who happens to be a 1920s enthusiast. I'm so proud of how beautiful the entire shot is, including how good the cream linen Eleanor looks. Thanks so much @bobbedbernice for allowing me to use this photographtwo_hearts

About

The first hat I ever made was about 30 years ago, for a friend of mine as a gift for her sister who was undergoing treatment for Leukemia.........

The joy this hat brought to her, to feel feminine again after losing her hair, touched my heart. After that a love of making hats was born in me.
I've always been crafty, taught to sew by my Mum. I can still remember the smell of the small, local fabric shop in middle England, all those years ago, where we were regular customers. It was better than visiting the sweet shop! I had and still have an avid interest for anything artsy, crafty and an addiction to fabrics! One look at a certain fabric and the creative juices start flowing....

I was born, raised and educated in the U.K. I studied as a fashion student, which lead beautifully into Millinery, the art of hat making.
I am now an Ex Pat, Mum of two energetic, beautiful children. By the time I left England I was living near the beautiful town of Brighton in East Sussex, also known as "London by the sea". An Artists Mecca! Just check out "the Lanes" for a taste of what I mean. I am now living in Boston Massachusetts. A truly magnificent city which inspires me to cater to the seasons. From Sun protection in the summer and year round, to toasty ears in the winter.

My Etsy shop began back in 2009 as a perfect opportunity to have a "storefront" for all the creations realised and also those buzzing around in my head. It also gave me the opportunity and my children the benefit, of a stay at home parent. I am positively enjoying the beauty of being able to do both.

Since then I have added my own website into the mix www.BostonMillinery.com where TheWaughdrobe's hatsy creations can also be found. Perfect for all the "hataholics" out there!

"The Waughdrobe" pronounced "wardrobe", a play on words, comes from my family name Waugh. My Waughdrobe is bursting at the hinges with new styles and delicious fabrics.

Thank you for taking the time to peruse my creations. Whether its a hat to keep your head warm and stylish after hair loss or a hat to compliment your dress on your wedding day; making you happy, makes me happy. Let me know when I can custom make your next wonderful hat!

HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR HEAD?

Take a measuring tape and wrap it around your head just above your eyebrows and over your ears. Make sure the tape lies over the fullest part of the back of the head and do not pull the tape any tighter than you would want a hat to feel during wear.

If in doubt please size up. A hat that is too small will give the wearer a headache. I am always happy to make a custom size for you if you fall inbetween sizes or need larger of smaller than standard.

My standard sizes are as follows:

SIZE Petite: 21 1/2"
SIZE Small: 22 1/2"
SIZE Medium: 23"
SIZE Large: 24"
