About

13 Years and Counting...

'Hello' from the UK, and thanks for visiting!

My aim for 'The Wellington Boot' is to use an interesting variety of materials to create quality fashion pieces that can be worn every day, as well as fun & colourful statement items.

My interest in jewellery started in my later secondary-school years, when rules were relaxed and I decided to push the boat out and wear the weirdest and most fun earrings I could find, including colourful parrots, plastic ice lollies and little slices of cake.

But, since the high street didn't offer much jewellery that satisfied my ‘niche’ taste, I decided to make my own instead. So ever since I was 15 years old, I have made jewellery; starting with gifting finished pieces to friends, then selling them on my own website and lastly selling them here on Etsy from 2010.

As time has gone on I have partly grown out of my love of super-quirky jewellery and have progressed to adding more pearls, sterling silver and high quality beads to my creations. I still have a soft spot for novelty charms though!

I've always had a big interest in making things, and more specifically a big interest in crafts. At university I learned how to make dentures, crowns and orthodontic appliances, and funnily enough I use the same tools for making jewellery as I did for making dental products - so there is actually some crossover!

Carving out a creative career is something I am working on every day, and I can’t see me stopping making jewellery any time soon…after all, I've lasted 13 years already :)

Please note that occasionally a necklace length cannot be changed, and only gunmetal and antique brass chains can be altered for free (i.e. not silver).

All sales from my shop are subject to UK legislation.

Postage & packing (shipping) fees are a flat £3.30 fee for UK orders, £3.50 for countries within the EU, and £4 per order for customers from any other country.

Please be aware that if you place an order from outside the UK, the delivery may be subject to import duties resulting from customs inspections when entering your country or state. Please check the rules on importing into your country or state to see if you will be charged. The Wellington Boot cannot be held responsible for these charges.
Usually, the rules simply state a price limit on international purchases, so if you spend below the specified amount, custom fees will not be charged.

Please make sure that the delivery address you enter whilst paying with Paypal is correct - as the address in your Paypal account is the one I will use. The Wellington Boot cannot be held responsible for the loss of an order as a result of delivering to an incorrect address.
Shipping
All U.K. orders under £40 (approx $60) will be sent using Royal Mail First Class delivery, and orders over £40 will be signed-for.

International orders under $60 will be sent via the regular airmail service. High value orders will be insured. Please note it can take anywhere from a few days to few weeks to deliver to an address outside the UK, depending on your location.

Orders will be posted to you within 3 working days of receiving your payment.

Please contact us if you have not received your goods after 2 weeks (for UK orders), or after 4 weeks (for international orders).
Refunds and Exchanges
We hope you are happy with your purchase, however if you wish to return your purchase, please do so within 7 days (for UK orders), or 14 days (for international orders). If you comply with the rules, you may choose to receive a refund or a replacement item of the same value.

We do not refund the original or the return shipping costs unless the reason for the return is due to a mistake on our part i.e. we sent the wrong item, the item was damaged in transit, or the item does not match the description. If you would like to return an item, it would be best to contact us first to see if there is another way to resolve the issue.

You must retain the proof of posting certificate for any returned item.

For hygiene reasons, earrings are non-returnable unless faulty or damaged in transit. All goods must be returned unworn and in the original packaging.
Additional policies and FAQs
Some items are one-off products and cannot be recreated, whilst others are often produced in a very limited number. If a product you like is sold out, please contact us - because sometimes we can re-order stock to make a second run of a product (and you may be lucky!)

Just a note on necklace fastenings: Antique brass chains and gunmetal chains all have a lobster clasp fastening as standard (even if it's not mentioned in the description). Some of the gunmetal chain necklaces may have an extender chain attached too (which will be mentioned in the description). Sterling silver chain necklaces will have a handmade sterling silver hook-and-eye clasp, a sterling silver lobster clasp or a sterling silver bolt ring for the fastening (the specific necklace description will state which one will be supplied).

We have made every effort to display and describe all of our jewellery accurately. The colour of some items may vary slightly from the photographs due to lighting conditions and angles, and also the patterns on some natural materials such as mother of pearl, abalone, shell and gemstones may vary slightly between individual pieces.

All findings comply with the EEC Low Nickel Regulations.

Please be aware that jewellery contains small parts - so please keep your jewellery out of reach of young children.

I do not include any receipts or invoices.

CUSTOM ORDERS & WHOLESALE
Although I am not closed to custom requests, please expect a polite decline from me due to time or material restrictions.
But I will consider any request individually :-)

Thank-you for visiting!
