pure and simple beginnings...

I have always been drawn to items with a story: a city, a building, furniture, vintage housewares, even people. Wouldn't it be interesting to write a book of conversations with the aged, a compilation of peoples stories? {bucket list!}
I grew up in a very small town within the heart of our country's farming region and was always fascinated by the old structures that framed the 'downtown' area. When I was a small child, buildings that dated back to the early 1800's still contained portraits of presidents covered in dust so thick that it could have been there as long as the building itself. {I'll admit it seemed a bit 'haunted house' ish back then, perhaps because my little brother and I were small children sneaking around the old attic in the dark, while Mom was playing BINGO downstairs and most likely had NO IDEA where we had disappeared to...}
I appreciate many aspects of today's modern conveniences and am grateful for them.
However, I am fascinated by items with history: they are generally uncommon {who like's a cookie cutter life?} and items with history can be treasured gifts handed down for generations {those of you who display great-great grandmother's china on a shelf or have been given a special piece of mom's jewelry understand}.
I have frequented yard sales, farm auctions, garage sales and antique stores since I was a child and have loved the art
of fluffing our nest with unique finds, making our home unique and our own.
{the white chair} boutique specializes in pure, simple, and often rustic, always comfortable embellishments to bring a personal and unique feel to your own nest.
