Hello and thank you for visiting my shop! I am a wife and mother of two blessings from God (8 and 6) with one on the way! Prior to being home and a full-time artist/ business owner, I was a full-time elementary school teacher, and as you can imagine, going from the classroom full of kiddos, social network among my colleagues, and things to keep me busy all the time, it was a tough transition at first leaving my job behind to stay home raising my babies. These days however, I can't imagine things any other way. I LOVE being home, and the flexibility that my schedule and working from home allows. I started my art business and this shop in 2014 with the hopes of adding a little bit of income to our family while I was home raising my babies. Little did I know then, that God had big things in store for this little shop! Since opening, I have been blessed with numerous opportunities to work with companies across the globe who are licensed to reproduce and sell my work. This shop has allowed me to support my family while home, and I cannot even express the gratitude and appreciation I feel for each and every sale that comes my way. It's been a truly life-changing experience! My faith is very important to me, as well as my family, fitness, and the beach, among other things ;), so you will see bits and pieces of those aspects in my work. In its purest form, chalk is a form of LIMEstone, and is white, so I thought The White Lime was a very fitting name for my business. I love the look of illustrations and beautiful wording mixed together, and do my best to create that in my work. The unique thing about chalk as an artistic medium, is that the majority of people have, at one point in their lives, used it, drawn with it, taught with it, or felt it, so there is a great familiarity with it when someone sees it or hears about it in an artistic design.

All the designs you see were completely hand drawn by me using regular chalk (the kind your teachers used) on a chalkboard surface. There is no digital drawing involved. There are no digital fonts. The designs and fonts are created with nothing more than chalk, and are ideas I find inspiration through in my every day life, my passions, and my experiences. Once my chalk drawings are completed, I convert them into digital images. Digitally, I am able to tweak the lighting, add some pops of color, and perfect the final image before offering it to you as a photographic print or card! Photographic prints are created on Deep Matte Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper that is flat and mimics the appearance of a chalkboard when framed in front of the glass. I use a professional lab to produce the art prints that I offer, and I thoroughly examine each print for any imperfections before shipping it to you. I also use a local printing lab to create the cards that I make. I create the card template myself with my chalk design on the front, and simply have the template printed at my local lab. Once printed, I complete the rest of the card-making process and check each card thoroughly for imperfections and quality before sending it out.
