About

A little look inside....

My shop home: thewhiterabbitstudio.etsy.com
The White Rabbit Studio is a venue of a combination of things - my passion for my work, my love for vintage and antique finds, and the inspiration behind it all. The inspiration came from my dear husband. Through his supportive nudge The White Rabbit Studio was born as my outlet to help bring the world beautiful decor - my work and vintage and antique finds. That is my dear one as a little boy in the white rabbit costume in my avatar photo and the shop banner. Cutie.

Though I appreciate many styles and eras of decor, I have always gravitated to things that have a look from an older time, whether reproductions or antiques. I appreciate their cracks and chips, their weathered distressed covers hiding a story that they carry which brings forth their charm and character. Their history intrigues me. I can picture them in their perfect vignette. I find these treasures and sometimes they find me. I know that their future owner will see them in the same light that I do - with their beautiful imperfections - in that new special place. I very much enjoy bringing my vintage and antique findings to the Etsy audience but my true passion is my work - my art.

I am a self-taught artist with a flare for interior decor. I have a room that I refer to as my studio or office where I brainstorm and create, but really I utilize many rooms in my little house depending on the project. I love my work - my artful decor dress forms - and anything else that I create. But I don't think that "work" really applies to something that brings me peace, relaxes me, and gets my energy flowing. It is my art. Dress forms (aka mannequins) are gorgeous and classic additions to any decor. A client once asked me if they had challenged me with with a particular idea for their custom dress form order. It is not a certain idea that challenges me per se, because I look at anything I take on as an opportunity to let loose and play. That means I get to create timeless classic works of art within a variety of styles and eras - and I love love LOVE it. Many of them are understated and elegant, while some are fun and whimsical. I thoroughly enjoy bringing these pieces to life whether the ideas of their conceptions come from my head or my client's. I suppose that's truly the challenge that I thoroughly enjoy in the process of bringing these beauties to life - getting my clients' ideas out and into physical being, but it's such fun too.

If you are interested in seeing your very own custom piece brought to life, drop me a line and let's get started. It's so much fun. There is also information about the process on each of my demonstration listings but I'm always here for questions. You can see more of my work including the progression of custom pieces here at my Flickr site:

♥♥♥♥♥ LAYAWAY PLANS: I offer the option of layaway payment plans for items grand totaling $50.00 or more. Layaway plans can be tailored to the comfort of your budget. For custom orders I require a deposit of $100 in order to create the custom piece. The deposit and balance of the dress form can be worked into a layaway plan, but before I can start work I require the $100 deposit. So, layaway plans can be created for both custom work or listed dress form pieces. Once a payment plan is agreed upon and committed to via convo exchange it is the customer's responsibility to adhere to their payment plan. The item will be listed with a RESERVE while it is in layaway. If for some reason it is necessary to delay a payment for a few days (because things happen), communication is appreciated. If communication is broken and payments are not made, any paid funds will be refunded and the item will be relisted. Once the item is paid in full and payment has cleared it will be carefully packaged and shipped - or delivered to an agreed upon meeting point, whichever the case may be, and on its way to a new happy home. :-) ♥♥♥♥♥
Shipping
LOCALLY: If you happen to live in the Richmond, VA area, arranged local pick up is welcomed - just send me a convo and we can arrange the details.

CONTINENTAL US: Shipping costs listed apply to the continental United States. I add insurance for the breakables (glass and delicate items) and dress forms. I can combine shipping costs for multiple purchases, just convo me ahead of time with what you'd like to purchase so that I may adjust the listing for you. Since I have to guess at most of my shipping costs, I will refund any overages of $3.00 and up of that which I have quoted. If I quoted a shipping cost of $5.00 and it turns out to be $2.00, I will refund you the $3.00. :-) NOTE: Please be aware that although I package my breakables (glass, ceramic, porcelain, and the like) and dress forms with great care and with insurance, I cannot be held responsible for what may occur during the actual shipping process - sometimes accidents do happen. I will work with you to help you file an insurance claim but I cannot be expected to refund what is not my fault. Thank you for your understanding. :-)

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I am happy to ship internationally. Please convo me so that I can provide you an estimate.
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales are final. My vintage/antique items are sold as is. All sales are final. These items have history and may show age, wear, crazing slight marks, etc., which adds to the character and charm of the piece. Please click to zoom photos and read descriptions provided. I do make efforts to note any of these points in those descriptions.

I welcome any and all questions regarding my works of art so that you can be absolutely confident about your purchase.

Any painted furniture is done so with the utmost love and care, as if it were for my own home. My goal is to make the piece look entirely new and different from its previous state. Please understand that even though I have given the pieces new life, they are still not brand new and may have some wear. I happen to love old furniture and feel that age just enhances the personality of the piece.

All sales are final - dress forms, custom made dress forms, vintage/antique items, all items in my shop. All sales are final.

If an item is damaged during shipping, I will contact the shipper, (depending on shipping method) but there's only so much I can do since my pieces are typically one of a kind. On exceptional cases I will accept returns and refund your money as long as the item is returned to me in the condition in which I sent it within 10 days of the postmark date - the date the item was sent to you.
