Announcement   I make unique jewelry out of candy wrappers and other found items, really whatever I can get my hands on! Please take a look around.

The Winged Lion is a sister site to Letterbox Lion, which is the shop at which I sell my fine jewelry (non-upcycled, in copper and sterling silver wire, and gemstones and Swarovski crystals). If you're interested, please take a look at www.etsy.com/shop/letterboxlion. Thank you!

CUSTOM ORDERS ARE WELCOME. If you want something I can make but haven't made yet, ask! Give me an excuse to make something I wouldn't have thought of before.

For a gallery of some of my creations both fine and upcycled, a color palette for custom orders, etc., I have a website at www.letterboxlion.com. I am also on Facebook, Blogspot and Twitter under the name letterboxlion. If you need anything, feel free to contact me on any of those sites. Thank you for looking!

Basically, I am here so that I can continue to make art, and share it with other people. I am an up-and-coming jewelry artist still learning the tricks of the trade. I'm developing my style and I expect it to keep evolving as I learn new techniques and become bolder with my experiments.

Origami and recycled art is what I started out with, and I have a lot of trial-and-error behind me (and in front of me, I'm sure). Origami jewelry is a lot of work, but rewarding.

Returns and exchanges
Returns and repairs:
I will repair damaged pieces, and return them to their original state to the best of my ability, but I would ask that you pay the shipping costs to and from. If you wish to return a piece, you may do so for a refund of the cost of the item.

Please be advised that origami pieces cannot be repaired. If the origami is damaged, I would have to re-make the entire work to put new origami on it. For that reason all my origami is double- or triple- coated with two different kinds of sealant. It is impossible to make paper waterproof, and I have made it as durable and water-resistant as I can. Like all jewelry, proper care should be taken; please do not immerse them in water, shower with them on, step on them, etc. and they should last a long time.

I am not responsible for packages lost in the mail if the buyer does not purchase insurance. Please contact me on Etsy with any concerns.
Payment
I accept paypal, personal checks, money orders and google checkout...if there is another way you'd like to submit payment please convo me. I like to be as accessible as possible and I don't think it's necessary to make you jump through hoops just to give me money.

If you wish to cancel a purchase please let me know as soon as possible. Purchases not paid within 3 days with no communication will be canceled and re-listed, after two attempts at contacting the purchaser.
Shipping
Orders will ship within 5 business days via USPS, provided payment has been received. USPS Express or Priority mail are available at additional cost. Please contact me if you prefer one of the latter options. Custom orders will of necessity take longer to ship than others.

I wrap my pieces in fabric and/or place them in a handmade origami box, depending on their size and fragility. Origami pieces necessarily are shipped in boxes to prevent crushing in the mail. Other pieces are shipped in bubble mail envelopes. I use old newspaper as packing material around origami boxes. Upon request, I will provide gift-wrapping or a handmade box for any other piece at a small additional cost (for the price of the shipping box - I will not try to scalp you for shipping money, but it does cost me more to send things in boxes rather than envelopes). Please notify me in the message to seller if the package is a gift and I should not include the invoice.
Additional policies and FAQs
Don't be shy if you want to ask me for a custom piece. I make art, but a piece is no less unique just because it is made in your favorite colors, is your size or includes your birthstone. Please, give me an excuse to do something crazy for you and you won't be disappointed!
