Note from shop owner Hey guys! Unfortunately I have moved into an apartment that is too tiny for all my crafting! I'm in my first year of graduate school & will hopefully be able to find a fabulous [& spacious!] apartment that I can happily & comfortably craft in time for the next school year. Thanks for your understanding, & I'll see you in a year!

About

Yarn: To tell an entertaining tale or series of tales.

A yarn is a tale, especially a long story of adventure or incredible happenings. When I first realized I loved to craft & wanted to share my creations with the world, I asked my mother what I should call my 'brand'. She suggested The Yarn To Tell, because when you create something, there is always a story behind it. Maybe you simply love the color of the yarn you are working with, or maybe you are creating for a specific purpose. There are many reasons we knitters, crocheters, sewers, & the like do what we do, & the stories are all different. I think these stories are an important part of the creative process & they deserve to be told.

I can be found constantly trying new things. In the last year & a half, I've tried/learned to use a sewing machine, knit in the round, embroider, scrapbook, paint ceramics, decoupage, etc. I get bored if I'm doing one thing for too long. I'm an instant gratification kind of crafter [which is something I hope I someday grow out of]. That's the reason many of my favorite things to make are small, like cowls, headbands, & coffee cozies, & one of my favorite yarn weights is bulky. My goal is to master all of the things I've recently learned & begin to better organize my time so that I can use my blog & Etsy more regularly to share my creations.

Welcome to The Yarn To Tell!

I've been crafty for as long as I can remember. I taught myself everything I know, with help from an aunt, grandma, & neighbor. I remember finding a skein of yarn, one of those old 'teach yourself to crochet!' pamphlets, & a crochet hook in my mom's sewing box when I was 12. I crocheted several potholders and a drawstring bag with that yarn before realizing how much I loved the idea of being able to make things for myself. I taught myself how to knit a few years later, and just recently purchased my first sewing machine. I'm constantly learning new things & drawing inspiration from everything around me. I hope you enjoy using my items as much as I enjoy making them!
