About thimbleandthistle

my story

I've been embroidering for as long as I can remember. My grandmother would hand me a scrap piece of felt and a needle and tell me to stitch a flower while she sewed at her sewing machine. It all comes back to my grandmother, really. She bought me my first embroidery kit when I was stuck inside with pneumonia on my ninth birthday. I remember stitching pictures and writing poems with embroidery floss.

After my daughter was born, I had baby blues that wouldn't go away. I emerged out of the storm clouds of depression with the opening of this shop. Stitching calmed my anxiety and helped me to focus. It's given me exactly what I needed to heal - comfort, pride, and most of all, joy. Etsy has allowed me to bloom.

Returns and exchanges
I offer a full refund on all ready-made hoops, but not on custom orders. I am happy to repair any hoops broken during shipping (though that has yet to happen) or fix any stitching that is not up to your standards. I dedicate much time and care to each hoop I make and I am not fully satisfied until you are.
Payment
All hoops featured in my shop can be cancelled up until they are shipped. Custom hoops can be cancelled up to 24 hours after being purchased.
Shipping
I ship USPS priority mail. Orders usually arrive within 7-10 days after initial purchase. I always provide a tracking number but I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
