Announcement   Vintage jewelry, vinyl records and more on etsy and ebay.
Hey there--sales on etsy have been VERY slow this summer, so for now I'm just letting the listings expire without renewing them as the listing fees aren't worth it if there are no sales. So, if you like it, buy it, otherwise it may soon be gone!

I have been selling vintage jewelry and other vintage items online for 10 years and have a great deal of stuff that I never have time to list, so if you are looking for something in particular and think I might have it, ask!
I love vintage stuff. I firmly believe that objects were much more beautiful in the past than they are now in this era of homogenous design and cheap production. Things used to be built to last, and even the ones that weren't still have a shabby beauty that is simply lost in new designs. Remember: vintage items will continue to go up in value as they get rarer and rarer, but cheap, poorly-made reproductions of vintage designs will never be worth anything! x

I'm a writer and an archaeology graduate student. I divide my time between California and England and my heart belongs to both. I write, paint, sing, and have been collecting vintage jewelry since I was in high school, back in the olden daze when you could go to a thrift store and buy a beautiful rhinestone pin and a 50's dress for a dollar. I love old things; old things are better made, they're more beautifully designed, and they have a wonderful solidity and realness to them that new, cheap, plastic-y uber-modern junk never does. I have way too much stuff, though, and some of it has got to go, to pay for my education and my life choices--I don't live extravagantly, but traveling back and forth ain't cheap. Archaeology, art, aesthetics and design are huge in my life, and have informed everything that I am, and everything that I do.

Vintage items are used and have wear: Any and all vintage items may have storage soil and wear to finish, small nicks and fleabites or scratches to glass or stones, tarnish, patina, verdigris or rust spots, worn maker's marks, slightly loose parts, and so on. Vintage items are not perfect and you must accept this if you wish to bid. Items have not been cleaned unless otherwise noted. I will go out of my way to note significant damage in description but I usually don't bother selling items that are "broken" unless they have some special value as such. All items are used vintage or antique unless otherwise noted.

I can't guarantee metal content unless I had it tested: I usually do not pay to have gold or silver tested when it has hallmarks; items have only been tested for metal content if noted in description. Therefore, I cannot guarantee metal content. I do not guarantee the meaning of any marks on any pieces because I have no way of verifying them especially if they're old as I can't afford to pay for a COA on everything I have to sell; I can only guess based on the marks. You are paying for what I am selling as an object so please pay close attention to photos.

Shipping/handling charges are not negotiable; I have to pay for shipping materials (labels, padded mailers, record mailers, bubble wrap, etc.) and there are other costs involved in shipping which mean that I make no profit on it at all and often lose money.

I insure any and all fragile items--records, glass items, ceramics, etc. So, if the item breaks during shipment, you are required to cooperate with me in filing an insurance claim. However, I pack all items very well so I do require photographic evidence before filing a claim (the insurers require it, too).

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
California bidders must pay an additional 9.75% sales tax. (Sorry, I know it's high, blame Schwarzenneger!) I can usually combine shipping on smaller LIKE ITEMS (single items of jewelry, etc.), though with larger items or lots, it may not be possible.
Most lightweight items are shipped via first class mail. I try to have a turnaround of a few days but occasionally some items may be shipped up to a week after payment if I'm particularly busy! Items can only be shipped to the name and address on the paypal account used to pay for the item, no exceptions. All items shipped within the USA are shipped with delivery confirmation tracking; items shipped overseas have some limited tracking through customs. After the item is shipped, it is in the hands of the US Postal Service and no longer my responsibility so any claim made against loss or damage can only occur if the item was insured, as some higher ticket items are. If you wish to purchase faster shipping at a higher cost, insurance, or registered mail if you are overseas, please contact me first to ask if it's possible and to get a quote for current rates (USPS constantly changes their rates--it's dizzying...and annoying!).
I will not lie on customs forms; all items will be shipped as merchandise with full disclosure of item purchase price and type of item, etc. If your country has customs issues with certain kinds of goods, please do not try to buy those kinds of goods from my shop; you are responsible for knowing the customs policies of your country and dealing with any issues that may arise in that area. I will not lie on customs forms and will declare the full rounded value of the item on the form.

If you require gift service (gift box plus gift wrap--specify male or female, child or adult), I may be able to provide this on smaller items for an additional charge; please write me beforehand to inquire.
Refunds and Exchanges
No returns or exchanges; all items are vintage and used and must be sold as is and as described. All items are described to the best of my ability. Any and all chargebacks or attempts to try to get the item for free will be reported as attempts at fraud and legally pursued, so please don't. :)
Additional policies and FAQs
I love to buy vintage jewelry myself, and I have had many disappointing experiences with ordering it online, but also many great ones where it was like getting a slew of Christmas gifts! I would rather that your experience be like the latter than the former! :)
I describe each item to the best of my ability and my knowledge; if I make a mistake, it is truly out of human error and I accept no liability, as all items are vintage or used and sold as is and as seen. With vintage items, a lot of what is involved in describing what era the piece is from, etc. is guesswork, so you have to read my description and understand that I am not an expert, only someone who has a few books and who cares about jewelry and vintage accessories. If the item is a precious metal, I make it clear in the description whether I've had it tested or I'm just going by the hallmark; if the hallmark is wrong, that is not my responsibility, folks (I don't mark jewelry, I only sell it). If I suspect that an item is not "real," I will not sell it online and it will not be part of my offerings, as I don't want anyone to walk away unhappy and I prefer online transactions to be simple, fast, and pleasant for everyone involved. All items are vintage and used and are not guaranteed to be pristine or perfect, so if you require that, please do not purchase vintage goods! Please ask questions and read descriptions, see pix, etc. before buying as all sales are final, unless otherwise noted. I don't bother to sell "junk" pieces unless it's a box lot of repair parts or if the piece might be a desirable fix-up for someone who likes to tinker with broken jewelry. I try to pick out the nicest and most interesting items from what I purchase to sell (or to keep for myself!). Please enjoy your item and have fun!
