Sharing the Arkansas Ozarks... One Memory at a Time

I’ve been surrounded by beautiful antiques and treasures all of my life, but I didn’t truly begin to appreciate them until I was in my thirties. One of my first “antiques” was a vintage Crayola crayon tin that my mother-in-law gave me. Little did I know that a seed of love for old things – and repurposing – had been planted! When my great-grandparents’ house was liquidated, I found hidden treasures galore that spoke to me… primitive kitchen utensils, patchwork quilt tops in need of quilting, and my great-grandmother’s glass butter churn with lid, for starters. A few years later, we liquidated my maternal grandparents’ house, and again, I found amazing treasures that told the story of their lives… and my childhood.

After my husband (39 years, two cats!) and I retired in 2005, we agreed to help my mother-in-law with the online selling of some of her numerous antiques and treasures... collected for more than a quarter of a century. Instead, we discovered that auctions and estate sales held an allure for us – and represented something the three of us could do together. Soon our house was filled with glassware, linens, estate jewelry, and more that we simply had to bring home!

I spent a lot of time caring for my 100-year-old paternal grandmother, who departed for heaven in March 2013. My husband and I devote a lot of time helping to care for my great-nephews and niece, now 5, 3, and almost 2. Researching and working with antiques and treasures...and keeping my Etsy shop fresh and fully a great outlet for my creativity – and a wonderful stress reliever. I found that sewing for my little nieces, nephews, cousins and friends was also a great source of fun and relaxation. I truly love repurposing old clothing and linens into fresh, new pieces for children and others… many of which are sold in my Etsy shop.

I’ve rented booth space in more than one antiques store, but I find that the audience who appreciates my treasures most is the warm and welcoming community of Etsy members. I want the things I present in my shop to remind you of days gone by, your own grandparents or family members, an item of clothing or piece of jewelry you once had – or something that simply made you smile. Life is pretty great in the Arkansas Ozarks, and I hope my treasures will give you a little glimpse into our neck of the woods.

Life is great in the Arkansas Ozarks! You will often find me at an auction or estate sale, buying antiques and collectibles to resell. I LOVE to give old things a second life! I am keenly aware that God has blessed me tremendously.

Thank you for visiting This Reminds Me... Quality is important - from the vintage treasures I sell to the manner in which I pack and ship them. I make every effort to be as honest and forthcoming in my descriptions as possible. If a piece has a nick or scratch, I'm going to tell you. When you buy something from This Reminds Me... you can be certain that WYSIWG (what you see is what you get)!

I ship as carefully and as "green" as possible - utilizing recycled packing materials and cradling your treasures in the security of such items as egg cartons, cardboard tubing, styrofoam packing, and more. I figure if these items can protect something as delicate as an egg, they should be great for guarding these treasures. AND... I'm keeping these materials out of the landfills just a little while longer!
Returns and exchanges
I want buyers to be satisfied with their products - and the transaction. Refunds are issued on an individual basis. Depending on the circumstances and reason for a cancelled transaction, I may deduct the cost of return postage from the final amount refunded. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase and wish to discuss a refund, please convo me.
I accept payment via PayPal. I find this to be the quickest, most expeditious and secure method of buying and selling on Etsy. I would appreciate prompt payment. If an item is not paid for within 48 hours, I will consider the purchase null and void. Once an payment has been made, cancellation is not possible, as I ship daily.
I prefer to ship via USPS Priority Mail whenever possible. This offers the buyer better care and handling of the purchase, as well as a quick delivery time. If the buyer insists on insurance, I will be happy to provide it at the buyer's expense; however, it has been my experience that insurance is not worth the time and money on most purchases. I prefer to pack well on the front end, use Priority Mail for better handling, and trust that the package will arrive at the buyer's door in pristeen condition.

Priority Mail service includes delivery confirmation, and when I use another delivery method, I add confirmation. I will be happy to provide the buyer with a tracking number on any purchase.

When it makes sense and seems financially prudent, I offer international Express Mail service on certain items.

If you are purchasing more than one item and would like a quote for combined shipping, please convo me before ordering, and I will calculate the best price possible. My goal is to ship quickly, safely, and for the lowest cost possible!
