As always Ninas work is exquisite and exactly what I ask for. The urn is beautiful, the delivery fast , and securely wrapped. Thank you so much Nina. I am extremely happy every time I look at them . My pets are an important part of my life and this is a beautiful tribute for them.

About

What is a Prayer Jar?

OK, so several friends have asked me, "What IS a Prayer Jar?"

Many of us devote time each day or evening to prayer, scripture and meditation; our personal time with God. A prayer jar is a special place to hold your hopes, fears, thanks, and special intentions or prayers. The act of writing a person's name and placing it your prayer jar makes it a concrete action and not just a fleeting thought; much in the same way lighting a candle at Church for someone, is an outward expression of our inner faith.

For 8 years I attended St. Mary Catholic School, Plano, Illinois. During the Lenten season, we were asked to write down our Lenten promises as well as someone we would pray for and remember during the 40 days. They were sealed and place in a wicker basket near the feet of Jesus. This practice has stuck with me through the years becoming a wonderful tool for focusing my prayers and intentions. I do not save this practice for Lent alone but have made it a regular part of my daily prayer life.

Several years ago I made a few prayer jars for my girlfriends. Still, when we get together, we will place names in our jar for those we know need our prayers, and remind one another to pray for this one or that one.

My prayer jars allow me to share a spiritual vision: To use the talents and gifts God has blessed us with to celebrate His Glory, and helping others enrich their personal prayer life.

So now that you know the story, consider adding a prayer jar in your life. (I know a couple of fabulous potters!)
Peace ~ Nina
