Announcement   Threads of Change will be going through an overhaul over the next few months as the shop owner needs to take a little break and re-energize creatively.

I am still selling my popular leather and faux leather hip bags, so those listings are still active.

For the past 8 years, my passion has been combining vintage and world fabrics with antique clasps and decorative hardware. Each design was a re-imagined piece of history. I design and create all my pieces.

I've used beautiful handpainted mud cloth from Mali; vibrant wax prints from Ghana; vintage bark cloth from Hawaii, and fabrics from India and beyond. My vintage hardware has been found in Hollywood estate sales, consignment shops and attics.

I've been featured in: InStyle Magazine, shoprumor.com, celebritystyleguide.com, boutiquetoyou.com and many more...

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for some changes!

About

Old World Textiles meet New World Functionality

Threads of Change was started in 2010, based on the idea of harnessing creative passions and actually making a difference somewhere in the world. I was drawn to the colorful, graphically bold fabrics of Africa, so I set out to design products that were functional, yet completely one-of-a-kind. Every piece of mud cloth or wax print fabric you see in the shop comes from Africa (the mud cloth from Mali, the wax prints from Ghana), and I'm now incorporating vintage fabrics and unique textiles from all over the world. No two pieces are alike, and everything is handmade in Los Angeles. My aim is to combine old world textiles with new world functionality.

A percentage of my sales goes directly to the Manya Krobo Queen Mothers Association in Ghana. The Queen Mothers are a non-profit group of women, descendants of chiefs, who serve the women and children in the Manya Krobo region of Ghana. These amazing women identify potential orphans in the region and provide a matriarchal and educational role, removing them from an orphanage situation and into a home atmosphere. These children eventually become their own. I am proud to support this wonderful group of women.

Welcome to Threads of Change. All of our materials come from Ghana and Mali. Ours vision is to combine old world style with new world functionality, while helping women and children in Ghana. We like to think we add a little heart and soul to digital gadget gear and accessories.

We support the Manya Krobo Queen Mothers Association, a local non profit organization located in the Manya Krobo region of Ghana. The queen mothers, actual descendants of tribal chiefs, identify potential orphans in their area and and take on the responsibility of personally caring for and educating these children.

Materials from Africa are shipped to us, and all products are designed and created by hand in California. A percentage of every purchase goes back to The Queen Mothers.
