Lane 33 1/2 captures "home" across distance with gift-giving at its core

Lane 33 ½ is a sewing and design studio where I work in fabric, paper, and ink to create beautiful and lasting items for your home.

I started Lane 33 ½ to connect people across distance with the feeling of “home”. I live far away from family and friends and know how important it is to find ways to stay connected. My designs arise from values of generosity and simple handmade beauty. Inspired by global genres and using traditional crafting tools and materials, my aesthetic is a youthful and contemporary. My work is made to last, providing years of enjoyment in your home or presented to those you love most, in a comforting moment or joyous celebration.

The name Lane 33 ½ comes from a simple dirt road, on the outskirts of a small town, set in the wide-open plains of Wyoming. This was my first home, and the backdrop for some of my earliest memories. After that, I moved all over the globe with my family. I opened this Etsy shop as I was about to embark for Indiana, moving yet again to a new part of the country in a new adventure with my husband. I thought about all the quilts and gifts I have made for family that now decorate and provide comfort in homes around the world. I wanted to create items that connect people and bring them joy and inspiration as they go through life’s adventures.

I sew in my home studio in the company of my boxer puppy, Gideon, and my husband Mark. I try to make my workspace warm, sentimental, and inspiring. I keep quotes that I like on the walls, I hang family photos and postcards from friends and travels, and always keep a dog bone under my fabric cutting table. I am self-taught, so I surround myself with books ranging in topics from Japanese Sashiko stitching to centuries-old Scandanavian fairisle knitting.

Thank you for visiting my shop. Don’t hesitate to get in touch – I would love to help create something meaningful for you!
