On Etsy since 2011

From little things big things grow.

Thank you for visiting Thrifted&Made. Here you will find all sorts of goodies painted, sewn, knotted, planted, thrifted or reinvented by me. Check back often as I'm always adding new things.

I could never really answer that question of 'what do you want to be when you grow up?' I thought it was because I never really wanted to grow up, but maybe it is because as a creative type it's hard to put your finger on it.

I've had many different careers/jobs starting as a Visual Merchandiser then a Hairdresser, then worked for the Australian Government in an office, then sold T-shirts that 'change colour in the sun' in Chicago, then flipped burgers in an after hours dive cafe in Toronto then as an Executive Administrator for a big corporation and then into Marketing for that same big corporation here in California. I loved (and sometimes hated) each and every one of those jobs (some more than others...)

When I took on the job of being a full time Mum, it was the most rewarding, yet hardest job of my life. It really is the best job I could have asked for. I think I was made for this job.

I opened my Etsy shop in August 2011, when my daughter Mabel was only 3 months old. It's something I had always dreamed about, but never really took the leap and did it. I was afraid. It sat there as an unused account until earlier this year when I was inspired by the new year and decided to just jump.

Jumping was the best thing I could have done. I love everything about running my Etsy shop. I get to use just about every skill I gained from my many different careers on a daily basis, but most of all I get to create. I think it is what I was meant to do when I grew up.
