    Born in an ice house on a Northern Minnesota lake, -M. found out early on that he had a special ability to brave the cold in order to sift mostly-mod gems from the wild wasteland of detritus deposited at "The Thrifts". In time, Thrift Sift was born.

Customer satisfaction is very important to me and I will do my best to make each and every transaction a positive one. Therefore, PLEASE READ MY POLICIES BEFORE BUYING so you know what to expect. No surprises = :) transaction!

If you have any questions about my policies, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK ME A QUESTION. I’m more than willing to help clarify.

I spend considerable time sifting the thrifts for gems amidst the detritus, and the quality and condition of each and every piece I decide to bring home with me is important to me. For nearly 2 decades, I have been scrounging and collecting, and my overflow space is full, so it's time to clean out. Since all items I collect (or sell) are vintage, and most are in used-vintage condition, it should be assumed that ALL ITEMS will contain minor scuffs, scratches, blemishes and/or signs of normal use and wear, (unless otherwise noted).

BEFORE BUYING AN ITEM -- a Buyer should LOOK AT ALL PICTURES and CONVO ME WITH ALL QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, REQUESTS AND SUGGESTIONS.

I consider each of the varied items that move through my hands to be mini learning opportunities in history, sociology, art and design – and selling vintage goods is not my profession. So, in this regard, I do not consider myself an expert; but rather a student. This means that ALL ITEM DESCRIPTIONS are my honest and upfront NON-EXPERT OPINION of an item and its condition and are DONE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. My descriptions of items are detailed and I will make every attempt to describe all flaws and imperfections noticed and personally considered significant enough to describe. Since I am not an expert on all the items I sell, it is possible that SOME ITEMS MAY HAVE FLAWS THAT I DID NOT NOTICE OR WAS NOT AWARE OF. This potential with vintage goods should be understood by a buyer BEFORE BUYING AN ITEM, as IT IS NOT REASON TO RETURN an item.

Accepted payment methods

PAYMENT:
Only PayPal is accepted. All items should be PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF CHECKOUT. Items will ship 1-3 days after payment is received. If a payment is not received in a timely manner, the Buyer will be notified, Esty will be notified, the transaction will be terminated, and the item will be resold.

In all cases, the Buyer will receive notification of shipment when the item has been put in the mail.

*It is also possible for the Buyer to make arrangements to pick up an item directly from me in-person. In this case, cash will be an acceptable means of payment.

Shipping
SHIPPING:

I DO NOT REFUND ON SHIPPING OR SHIPPING OVERAGES.

All items are shipped to the PayPal address. IT IS THE BUYER"S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE CERTAIN THE PAYPAL ADDRESS IS CORRECT BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE. The buyer can add an alternate shipping address in PayPal by logging in, clicking "profile" and then clicking "add or edit street address", if the item is a gift or needs to be shipped elsewhere. A buyer can also convo me to make arrangements.

All shipping costs are listed USPS. Insurance will be included when value of item exceeds 50. Special shipping arrangements can be made if the buyer Convos me BEFORE CHECKING OUT of a preference and waits for me to adjust shipping costs BEFORE PURCHASE (see first line of shipping policy).

If using another method of shipment it is recommended that it ship with insurance...if it does not, ALL RISK OF DAMAGE OR LOSS WILL BE ASSUMED BY THE BUYER.

Combining items is possible to save on shipping…just contact me of your intent before hand and make certain that everything is in your cart BEFORE CONFIRMING THE ORDER...it will save you $!

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
I am more than happy to do International sales! Please Convo me with your shipping address and I will do a custom shipping price quote for you! An additional $1, fee for customs forms, will be added onto all International Shipping costs.

All Thrift Sift Shop Polices for domestic sales also apply to international sales. All items will also shipped to the PayPal address listed in the PayPal account. Priority Mail International will be used for all items with insurance (for the purchase value of the item) and a return receipt features added.

Please check with your country’s customs office to make certain you understand all import duties, taxes, and charges imposed by your county of residence before purchase. All such charges are your responsibility, and are usually collected by the shipping company at the time of delivery – they are not additional shipping charges. Also all items will be valued at cost purchased, and WILL NOT be designated as a gift.

Please understand that although Priority Mail International SHOULD take 6-10 business days, international shipping COULD take significantly longer depending on your country & customs clearance time and that Thrift Sift does not control this. If other methods of shipment are requested and used arrival times COULD BE significantly delayed.
Refunds and Exchanges
RETURNS:
Since descriptions of all items are as detailed as I can make them, and the Buyer understands the “used vintage” quality of the items I sell, all items are sold in AS IS condition and returns are generally NOT accepted.

That being said, if I somehow made a glaring error in my description that grossly misrepresents the item purchased, I am happy to work out a return FOR THE COST OF THE ITEM ONLY, PROVIDING: 1) the object is in the SAME (sell-able) condition that I shipped it in. 2) I am contacted via ESTY Conversations (Convos) about the issue within 3 days of Buyer receiving the item. NO EXCEPTIONS.

I DO NOT REFUND SHIPPING OR SHIPPING OVERAGES from seller to buyer.

*NOTE: If there is a discussed and agreed upon return due to a glaring error in my description of the item that grossly misrepresents the item purchased, then the item must be properly packed and shipped back to me WITH BOTH TRACKING AND INSURANCE and Thrift Sift will reimburse the Buyer for the cost of the item PLUS return shipping WHEN THE ITEM ARRIVES BACK AT THRIFT SIFT IN ORIGINAL CONDITION.

LOST OR DAMAGED GOODS:
All items shipped are packed with the utmost care. Because ALL ITEMS are insured through USPS (or the arranged shipping company) – I DO NOT REFUND THE BUYER DIRECTLY, and compensation comes from either USPS once your claim is processed with the shipping company.

If an item is damaged in transport, LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIVING IT, and I will start the claims process for you so you can be reimbursed for your loss. THIS PROCESS WILL REQUIRE YOUR ASSISTANCE AND COOPERATION.
