My little dog truly loves these treats. It makes me incredibly happy that the treats are made with organic ingredients and are non- GMO. It's a great and healthy snack for dogs.

What do you do when you move from Los Angeles to Detroit? You go to culinary school and start a dog treat company...

Tiki Treats got its start during my second year of culinary school. I had recently moved from L.A. to Detroit and decided to pursue my love for baking. I was studying Pastry Arts, and as part of a final project, my class was required to make and market a product to sell at an annual culinary event. While most people chose sweets that people would actually want to eat, I thought to myself...why not dog treats? I wanted to do something different...partially because I knew everyone else would be making cakes and cookies and cupcakes, and partially because I was sick of watching my pup, Tiki, get sick off of the treats I was buying her at the store.

The treats were a hit at the event. People started asking me if my treats were available in stores. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but later thought, why not give it a go? I started researching the pet industry. I already understood food and had a general knowledge of what dogs should and should not eat, but if I was going to do this, I wanted to do it right. So, I researched more and consulted with veterinarians, and even had every flavor of Tiki Treats nutrition response tested on a series of some pretty sick pups. They tested well across the board, so I moved forward.

The key to Tiki Treats is the quality of ingredients we use. We only use natural ingredients because we think you should understand what you’re feeding your dog without needing a dictionary to translate it for you. We forgo grains because the way they are presently cultivated make them a high-allergen to many dogs. We even make our own peanut butter…50% because it’s better than most butters on the market and 50% because it’s REALLY fun. We are committed to producing a treat that is beneficial for your pup and holds true to our values.

It’s been almost 4 years since we got our start. Tiki still loves her treats, and so does her little brother, Rocky—the inspiration behind Rocky’s Road. We have a lot of new items coming to our shop, so check back and see what’s new. We’d love to see the pup in your life become a Tiki Treater!
