Joy is very difficult to deal with. Tile I recieved was cracked from front to back and looked like it was glued together. Joy said I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was just complaining. She said she would let me return it but I would have to pay for the postage both ways. She did finally just let it go... She didn't want to pay for postage for a cracked tile either.... One last slam on me was ... Joy told me she didn't want her tile back with all my negativity. I'm not negative...I just don't want to pay for a broken tile. I will never buy from her again.

In all of my 21 years of tile work I have never had to work with such a despicable client such as yourself. You bought a "seconds" tile from my sale section of the shop and complained that it had visual flaws. That's why it was a "second" in the first place and sold at less than 50% off retail! The item was accurately described and photographed in the listing. I offered to replace it or refund, per my shop policies, once I had my piece returned to me. Instead, you wanted to have me pay you to return it! Then you filed a complaint with etsy to dispute having to return ship my piece after I had already given you a refund for the piece! You could have exchanged it and I would have shipped you another piece of equal or lesser value out of my pocket and it would have been a wash. PLEASE NEVER COME BACK TO MY SHOP!

We loved our tile...it will make a great centerpiece in our kitchen!
Your story in one sentence.
How did you start your shop? How does it all work?
All of my work is handmade by me. It is because each piece is completely handmade that each is unique and one-of-a-kind. I work in a wide variety of commercially available cone 6 -13 clays and glazes. All of the glazes and underglazes I use are made in the USA or Canada and are non-toxic & lead free.
I also offer custom designed and carved artwork to your specifications. Custom, made-to-order, pieces require a quote for the work and design time involved. Delivery time of the custom work will be discussed at the time of order. A 50% non-refundable deposit will be required on all custom pieces before work will begin. The balance is due when the piece is complete and before the item will ship. A shipping quote will be needed for these pieces depending on the size, weight and desired shipping method of the piece(s).
The majority of my work has been designed to be installed in either the business or home. I have worked in the construction industry for 15 years and am very well versed on current tile & stone installation techniques. I install most of my own work when the client is local (San Francisco Bay Area). Please let me know if you need installation layouts or instructions for your installer (when applicable). I provide clear and concise directions for installing my work with every custom job. I am not responsible for mis-installed work by parties other than myself. If you have any questions, please ask me BEFORE the piece is installed. I pre-seal all of my stoneware and stone murals prior to shipping unless instructed otherwise.
Please let me know if you intend the made-to-order stoneware piece to hang on the wall. I will happily carve a groove or small hole on the back to make hanging easier.
For additional information please contact me. I am also happy to talk about my work and tile & stone in general. For additional pictures of my past client work, please visit my website: www.tilegoddess.com
