Thank you for checking out my little corner of ETSY.
I try very hard to make custom garments true to the period just like something you would have gotten from a local seamstress in that period. When at all possible, I use vintage buttons, buckles, metal zippers or snap closures, cotton thread and vintage seam and hem bindings and trim.

One of the reasons girls choose to wear authentic vintage clothing is for the history of the piece. Someone wore it somewhere and it has a story to tell. Unfortunately, authentic vintage garments are hard to find in good condition and in a size that fits a modern frame. But don't discount a newly custom made garment. When i make a garment just for you, using a vintage pattern and vintage materials...they all have a history too. In most cases the pattern is pre-owned, someone picked out that pattern with the same care they would take in picking out an off-the-rack dress. sometimes even more thought has gone into choosing it. And when you pair that pattern with a piece of vintage fabric that has gotten lost in the back of someone's sewing closet or attic and has been longing to be made into a beautiful dress or blouse - YOU are making it's destiny and it's NEW story!

Returns and exchanges
Since your new garment(s) are custom made just for you, I can't and won't issue a refund if you have had a change of heart, made mistakes in measuring or for any other reason except in the case of loss or damage by the post office provided you have purchased insurance.
If you measure correctly, the garment should fit without a problem. Occasionally a vintage pattern will run slightly small or large. If after we determine that the measurements you have taken are correct and the garment is still a little off, I will gladly make alterations at no charge if you send it back.
Occasionally the post office does lose a package - I know..I know, the government loses something...I can't believe it :/
My shipping quote does not include insurance, so if you decide that you definitely want insurance I will get a quote from the post office and invoice you for the exact amount. If you don't have insurance and the package gets lost, I will be happy to work with you to make another garment but there isn't any way i can or will absorb the entire cost of the loss. Its entirely up to you to decide if you want insurance to cover the cost of the garment or not.
Please see my Shipping Policy for details on domestic and International shipping and cost.
Payment
For your protection and mine, i only accept Paypal.
Once i've received your measurements and we've talked about and agreed on a fabric or fabrics and determined a final price, I will either make you a reserved listing or send an invoice. Payment is due at the time of invoice or listing unless other terms have been agreed upon. Once final payment has been received I will add your name to my reserve list. I work on a first-come, first-made basis. So once you are all paid up, I put your name in the rotation. Currently I am working approximately 8 weeks out on orders. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. But pretty much close to that 8 weeks. That doesn't include shipping time. If you need it sooner, maybe we can work something out. Convo me and we'll talk. There will be an up charge of 25% for rush orders.
In special cases i've been known to do a layaway/time payment plan. Ask me first and if i'm able to accommodate you, I will work with you to set something up.
I only ask that you keep track of the payments yourself and let me know when you've made your last payment including shipping. I'll check after the last payment is made to double check our math. But please don't ask me to make or ship something before you are finished paying, I just won't do it.
Shipping
I currently ship via First Class post to countries other than the United States in order to save you money. You are still able to track your parcel through the customs number which i can provide for you upon request. Currently paypal does not provide you with that customs number automatically as it does the priority or express tracking information.
Typical time in transit ranges from 15 days up to 4 weeks depending on the destination country. This may take longer in peak holiday seasons.
I will ship via priority or express international upon request. Convo me for a quote (or check out USPS.com for rates) and I will bill you for the difference in shipping.
