Was not able to provide the product. I waited for months and then ended up receiving a refund. As this was for my son's birth announcement, it was very disappointing.

About

Tine & Thread is all about sharing my passion for pretty paper and calligraphy....

The path to my shop opening here at Etsy has been a long one...

My passion for hand lettering and all things paper started at an early age. I was the little girl who preferred pens and paper over playing with dolls.

I began experimenting with different media in elementary school. I discovered a love for sewing, painting in both oil and watercolor, ceramics and creative writing. I'm truly fortunate that I had so many different ways to express myself and after all these years, my love for paper has endured.

I grew up in a very small town in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee. It's a beautiful place to call home, but there's no opportunity in those hills. Three days after I graduated from high school, I flew to San Francisco to start a new life.

After a short stay in San Francisco, I moved to the greater Los Angeles area. I started working as a receptionist and was the first in my family to graduate college. After years of hard work, I landed and held a position in executive management for six years. From the top of that corporate ladder, I realized that my true calling in life was to dedicate my time to family and to my shop, Tine & Thread. Six years ago, I met my other half and we are now happily married with three children.

My creative process has many layers. I keep a notebook with me at all times as ideas frequently flood my consciousness. Vintage signage around town inspires me as well as unique color combinations in a bouquet of flowers. I also love to work with brides to help bring their ideas alive. I truly enjoy being part of their special day.

I normally start with a project that is mentally complete and I work to bring my vision to life. A design may take several drafts before I feel it's just right. I'm constantly experimenting with techniques, paper, different kinds of ink and pens.

I love custom work, collaboration and just sharing in general. Please feel free to get in touch via convo here or at hello {at!} tine and thread dot com.
