Tinkerman's Daughter

Dayton, Ohio 4 Sales On Etsy since 2010

Announcement   The tinkers of old traveled the countryside, helping people repair what they could and re-purpose what they couldn’t. In that spirit — and because I enjoy the challenge of transforming old into new — nearly everything I make includes upcycled materials. Because so many upcycled materials are used, each item is One Of A Kind. Upcycled denim and wool, salvaged zippers, scraps from other projects, vintage buttons, thrift store finds, and clothes no longer fit for wearing (and yes, some new materials too) come together to bring beauty to functional items like quilts, home decor, bags, purses, quilts, ornaments and stuffies.

Also on my tinker's cart you may find vintage goods, crafting supplies and other treasures for sale.

20% of each sale will be used on Kiva to invest in small entrepreneurs around the world.

"My daughters love the guitar and flower t-shirts I got for them and so do I
-- the detail is amazing and the stitching is precise and secure. My toddler
is so proud to have her own handmade bag! I have used the reusable
snack bags many times and they've held up perfectly in the wash! Thanks
Tinkerman's Daughter!"

Crafting keeps me sane. My biggest current inspirations are making things for my son and my newly discovered love of working with felted wool. I've maxed out my son's wardrobe and filled my home with felted wool creations, but the creative force continues.

As much as possible, I'm working with second-hand items and scraps. This satisfies the depression-era practicality that's deep in me, and hopefully will help lighten the waste stream.

Please convo me with any questions or if you're interested in a custom order. I would love to create a special something, just for you and your loved ones. Custom orders take up to three weeks, depending on whether I can fulfill you wishes from what I have in my sewing room.

All vintage items are sold in AS IS condition. I do my best to portray the items accurately, both through my description and through pictures.
