Tinseile: These are a few of my favorite things!

My Etsy adventure began as a way to clear out my jewelry box. I love wearing my vintage pieces with my historical costumes because I like the unique character vintage jewelry has. Soon after opening my shop three years ago, I soon learned that I was not alone!

I opened my shop, Tineseile (Middle English for "tinsel"), specifically to share my love of Renaissance Revival jewelry, but the shop has since grown to encompass many other styles and eras, especially antique jewelry from 1855-1925. I love meeting customers and collectors who are just as passionate about historical and unique jewelry as I am! Every piece of jewelry in my shop is hand-picked for its personality, history, or peculiarities. It's an exciting process!

If you are a collector interested in specific types of pieces, I am always willing to keep an eye out for item you might like. Just send me a note or follow my shop and I'll keep you up-to-date on the fresh finds as they come into the shop.

The money I raise selling these little treasures goes towards supporting my family and forays into the fascinating realm of historical costume. For more about my life outside Etsy, you can visit my historical costuming blog, The Pragmatic Costumer, on Wordpress: thepragmaticcostumer.wordpress.com

Thank you for visiting!

Shop policies

Last updated on October 15, 2016
I aim to provide quality vintage jewelry to re-enactors, collectors, and jewelry lovers everywhere.
Returns and exchanges
I package my pieces as carefully as I can to ensure that they are ready to make you smile straight out of the package. I am not responsible for a piece once it leaves my hands, but if the piece is damaged by my negligence, I will refund the purchase price if you will ship the item back to me in its original box. Items are sold as-is and condition is noted in the description and displayed in the pictures so that you know exactly what you are purchasing. I do not accept international returns due to shipping and customs complications.
Payment is due no later than 3 days after purchase unless other arrangements are made via email. I accept Paypal payments because they are quick, safe, and documented so everyone can feel comfortable with the transaction.
I do allow item reserves! If you fall in love with something but don't have the funds to purchase it right away, contact me about putting the item on "reserve" for you! Reserves generally last a week, but if you need more time, we can work something out.
I ship via the United State Postal Service no later than 3 days after payment is received. All jewelry is carefully packed to ensure that your treasures arrive quickly and safely, including a tracking number (for US customers) for peace of mind!

All shipping prices listed for jewelry pieces are First Class Mail with a tracking number. If you want to upgrade your shipment to Priority or Express Mail, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR ITEMS so I can get a shipping quote for you. (Larger items will be shipped via Priority Mail.)

If you are located outside of the USA: if there are any special customs regulations or packaging instructions (weight/value regulations, etc.), please let me know before purchasing an item or in the "note to seller" box at checkout. All international shipping labels are purchased through Etsy's shipping tool at current United States Postal Service rates. I am not responsible for an item once it is handed over to the postal service nor am I responsible for customs fees if your country issues them. Customs may also cause delays, so expect international packages to take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to arrive.
Additional policies and FAQs
International orders are somewhat more complicated than domestic shipping (to the United States), so if you are an international buyer, please contact me before you buy so we can take care of all the important details necessary for a smooth transaction.
Overseas buyers are legally responsible for paying your country's customs/vat fees and import taxes at pickup. Customs forms are filled out legally: with merchandise description and sale price. No exceptions.
By purchasing an item, you are acknowledging all store policies and entering a binding contract.
