awesome and looks great on our tree. It is tooled to perfection, I don't see any tooling marks and its lighter than I thought it would be. I appreciate the weight as it doesn't affect the tree although it is quite flexible and will be difficult to package well in the off season. Larry and Diana were sweet enough to even share pictures of the process of making our star and other items in the shop!

About

Evolutionary Craftsmen

I have been practicing my craft for over 30 years and enjoy creating useful and decorative objects from metal. My career as a Quality Engineer taught me the value of simple but elegant design. I have an appreciation for the past and a desire to create heirloom quality objects for the future. Although being self-taught, I studied the methods used by craftsmen at Greenfield Village and historic Sturbridge Village and was affiliated with an Ohio craft cooperative for 9 years before moving to South Carolina in 1991. I design all of the objects I make, although some have historical links with those made by tinsmiths of early America. Even in this technological age each item I produce is individually constructed by hand from flat sheet metal using tools familiar to - and some that were actually used by - tinsmiths during the 18th and 19th century. Finally, each piece is hand finished, with the help of my wife Diana, in our Easley, SC shop.

WHAT IF YOUR ORDER TRACKING STATUS IS "DELIVERED": Time is of the essence for finding a misplaced package. The faster you act, the more likely your package will be found. When the item is delivered at your address, the carrier will scan the package and enter it as delivered. If your package status is DELIVERED, but you have not received it, please check with all household members and in locations near your address. Carriers may leave a package on a porch, tucked inside a door, etc. If you still cannot locate your package, please contact your local Post Office.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: If your country, or "Everywhere Else", does not appear in the item listing, please send a conversation requesting rates. Tinworks customers are responsible for payment of any and all applicable taxes, tariffs, and import duty. Customers outside the USA are cautioned to become informed about their country's import regulations and expected Customs delay time. Tinworks is not responsible for shipping delays incurred in-transit, including import clearance procedures. All taxes, duties fees or levies charged at point of entry to the buyer’s country are the buyer’s responsibility.

TRANSIT TIME: Please realize that we have no way of knowing how long your package will take to get to you. We can estimate a US delivery date, but can make no promises. We can not estimate a delivery date for any international packages, because there are too many variables.

Additional policies and FAQs
Newly listed items that have not previously been in my Etsy shop are added frequently, so please visit often.

Tinworks values customer feedback, and you are encouraged to provide it. Please do not leave negative (less than 5 stars) without contacting us first. I would like to be afforded the opportunity to address your concerns and resolve them to your satisfaction.

I value opportunities to create something special for my customers. If you don’t see the exact design, size or quantity you need, please request your custom item through etsy conversation; please provide as much information as possible to include what you want, when you want it and where you want it delivered. Please read my following shop policy regarding custom cookie cutters before requesting your special cutter design.

=============CUSTOM CUTTER ORDER PROCESS================
Custom orders are currently negotiated through Etsy conversation and fulfilled via a Reserved Listing. Please send your requirements, concepts, date needed, shipping location, etc. for consideration and quote. Following is our specific process for custom cutters.

We charge $20 MINIMUM for producing artwork, a MINIMUM of $45 for tooling and one simple cutter with a handle, and $3.25 MINIMUM for standard US shipping. Bottom-line delivered cost for one simple custom cutter that we design is $68.25.
To obtain the lowest quote for your cutter you must provide artwork (exact outline with dimensions). More complex cutters, with intricate bends, inside cutouts or high number of bends, as well as very small cutters, require more skill and time and will incur additional charges. Additional simple cutters, made from the same tool, are typically priced about $10.00 each. If you want exclusive use of the design, a $100 fee applies for all designs except your company logo.

Custom orders for cookie/clay/fondant cutters can usually be completed within 2 weeks. We do encourage customers to plan ahead and to have the necessary resources available. Specifically, we need an exact outline of the cutter, measurements of overall height and width, and you must have a PayPal account, or credit card for up-front payment. We use 30-gauge (.010 inch) tin-plated steel in our standard cutters for a sharp cutting edge, and we assemble cutters with lead-free solder. Copper cutters in 12-ounce (.016 inch) solid copper and heavy-duty tin plate cutters are available at additional cost.

Professional cookie makers typically are able to pay for their custom cutter with the first few orders sold, and the labor-savings continue to add up every time it is used. Clay artists may realize an even faster payback. Our stated goal is to provide a high quality product at a price that provides excellent value for our customers.
