A Tiny Journey

Idle time drives me crazy, relaxing is not for me. This is how my shop was born. I started my journey on Etsy selling prints of my paintings, but I wasn't happy. I needed more. Jewelry has been a love of mine for as long as I can remember, and it satisfies my appetite for a more instant gratification. I started experimenting with jewelry making and learned about resin. It had potential and I felt like I could go places with it. In my typical, impulsive fashion I began running to craft stores every day after my then day job, buying supplies and getting ideas. I would come home and experiment with it every night until my logic got loud enough to force me into bed. I learned how to make some things out of silver and taught myself a few basic metalworking techniques. I had some visions. Soon enough, I came up with a few pieces which had something in common that I liked: simplicity and sparkle. This was in early 2010.

I'd never seen anything exactly like it before, so I started preparing more items until I had enough for a shop. I nervously listed a few items, and then I waited. The first sale came, and then more continued to trickle in. I never gave up, and eventually people started buying what I was selling. I started recognizing the same customers, coming back again and again. Eventually this became something that I could call a success.

There have been many highs and lows in the last six years since Tiny Galaxies was born. I tweaked my photography, changed my prices, got into wholesale. I did all of these things so many times, to keep my jewelry relevant and to stay ahead of the copycats. Since 2010, I've seen more 'glitter post earrings' than I can keep track of, though I had never seen them when I started making them. My focus is the drop earrings, which no one has successfully copied yet. Now, I have more styles and colors than ever and know that it will only grow into an insanity inducing inventory. Tiny Galaxies slowly grew into my full time, only job. It is now my morning, day, and night job. My four cats keep me company during the day when I'm making sparkly earrings and my husband is my 'take packages to the mailbox' guy. I truly could not imagine doing anything else.

Welcome to Tiny Galaxies. Please read the information below to familiarize yourself with my policies before purchasing. If you have a question feel free to send me a message prior to placing an order!

Please note - although I am active here on Etsy, the majority of my jewelry collection is sold in many styles and colors as well as bracelets and necklaces on tinygalaxies.com.

Orders ship quickly and are not able to be refunded once they are placed. Pennsylvania customers will be charged a state sales tax.

Custom orders cannot for any reason be returned or refunded.

All orders are final once they are placed, unless I have made a mistake or your item is defective or damaged in shipment.
I ship USPS First Class mail. Orders are generally shipped the next day, international orders may take an extra day or two. Please allow extra time for custom and made to order orders, which will take a week to two weeks (but usually less) after order is placed to ship. Domestic (US) orders shipped via First Class usually take about 2-7 business days to arrive after they were shipped, but can take as long as two weeks in rare cases.

International orders will be shipped First Class International. Note that buyers are responsible for any additional charges incurred. Please know your country's custom fees and taxes when purchasing internationally. International First Class packages can take anywhere from a week to several weeks (and over a month or even two) to arrive. Packages are frequently delayed at customs which is unfortunately random and out of my control, which causes delays of delivery. Please note that everything takes longer to receive during the holidays (November-December), so shipping times are even longer.

If you have any special requests please convo me before you place your order, or as soon as possible. I cannot honor requests that were not discussed before you placed your order. Your order will either be sent as described or cancelled, depending on the request.

Please make sure that your ETSY ADDRESS is correct. I do not look at your address on Paypal, only Etsy. If your address is incorrect, packages cannot be resent unless paid for again by you.

International customers: please do not ask me to mark your purchase as a gift. It is not possible when shipping through Etsy, as it is illegal. It's a felony and will not be done.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not accept returns, unless an item is damaged or defective by fault of my own or in transit. Item descriptions and photos should be looked at carefully to note size, materials, and small variations in each pair of handmade earrings before purchasing. Therefore, returns or refunds for items other than those damaged or defective cannot be accepted.

Exchanges within 14 days of receipt for an unworn, new condition item of equal or lesser value are possible if the item for some reason does not meet your expectations. After 14 days, exchanges cannot be honored. In order to exchange an item, please contact me to discuss which item you would like in exchange prior to returning. The buyer will be responsible for return shipping and insuring the item, and your new item will be sent out once the original item is received in new, unworn condition.

If an item is damaged or defective please contact me immediately for a replacement or a refund. I will absolutely honor refunds or replacements if I have made a mistake or an item has been damaged in transit.

Prior notification is required (please contact me via convo) for either a return of a damaged or defective item or an exchange. Items that are returned without prior contact cannot be refunded and will not be accepted.

Please also note returns will not be accepted for any reason besides the above stated, including not wanting to pay customs fees, or USPS shipping times being a little longer than what they state. I'm very honest about USPS shipping times and unfortunately cannot make your package get to you any quicker! I do ship VERY FAST (next business day) but can't be responsible for how long USPS takes to deliver your item! Please order accordingly. :)
Additional policies and FAQs
If your item breaks (within normal circumstances, not with excessive force or wearing in bed, shower, swimming, hair drying, etc which are not recommended), I can fix it free of charge up to THREE MONTHS after your order is placed. You are responsible for shipping and insuring the package. Please message me before sending an item back to be repaired. It must be shipped back within ONE WEEK of when you message me about a repair, and will take up to two weeks to repair.

Custom orders are welcome! I love creating special color combinations for you, and often end up making more pairs for my shop! I do stock many pairs of most of my earrings, so orders of multiple pairs are welcome as custom orders.

I am happy to include a short note if your order is a gift. Please include what you would like it to say in the 'Note to Seller' when you place your order.
