No room for a Stegosaurus? Build a tiny one.

I don't have a lot of room in a Manhattan apartment, but I wanted a dinosaur collection like the one at American Museum of Natural History (we're members now, so really I can go any time). One thing lead to another and now I have tiny ice age skeletons, tiny humanoids, and, of course, tiny dinosaurs. Our cats hid several of the skeletons under the bed, refrigerator, stove, bookshelf, and a few places we haven't looked yet, so we needed something indestructible to shelter the tiny models. No one had the right size cloches, so I learned how to hand blow borosilicate glass. This is the same glass used in test tubes, erlenmeyer flasks, and lab beakers.

It's fun to create skeleton models and modify them to accommodate new knowledge. For instance, the difference between the Classic T-rex Tinysaur and the True Rex Tinysaur show some of the things we have learned about these Cretaceous creatures' bones since 1892 when Edward Drinker Cope found the first pieces.

We laser cut each one and triple check that all the bones are included. The most common comment we get at shows is "These really are tiny." Nevertheless, they're fun to put together, and don't take up much space.

Thanks for your interest in skeletons. RAWR!

Hey! I make the bones here at Tinysaur in pewter, paper, and brass. I've been making skeleton sculptures for over a decade. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks for visiting our store.
