Jewelry, dreamcatchers and postcards
I moved to Ireland in 2016, and it was here — surrounded by hedgerows, garden birds and quiet countryside — that Tiny Studio really began to take shape.
I picked up watercolour painting in 2023, and I started mainly with the birds in my own garden. Robins, blackbirds, wrens — I found myself watching them more closely, trying to capture not just what they look like, but what it feels like to slow down and really notice them. From there, the foxes, hedgehogs and other quiet garden visitors found their way into my paintings too.
Every illustration starts the same way: watercolour and coloured pencil, painted entirely by hand at a small desk in my bedroom. Once I'm happy with a piece, I scan it and bring it into calendars, cards, and my children's book, The Power of Birds — the story of Robbie the robin and Foxy the fox, written to help children fall in love with the birds around them the way I have.
Tiny Studio isn't about "cute" nature. It's about paying attention — to the small, the overlooked, the creatures that don't always get noticed. I print in Ireland whenever I can, choose recycled paper, and try to make fewer things, made better.
If my work makes you want to step outside and really look at what's living in your own garden, I've done my job.
