In 2006 out of a small shop near the beach in Dennis Massachusetts on Cape Cod I began my journey by hand making sea life jewelry. Previously coming from the finance industry, I was unable to express myself artistically and always dreamed of working with my hands. While vacationing in Nantucket, I woke up one warm summer morning when a light bulb went off in my head and I said to my wife "Honey, I have an idea". I explained what a neat idea it would be to design a line of stackable sea life rings that were high quality (gold and silver), affordable and collectible so that one could create their own different designs of their favorite sea creatures on their fingers. Never working with jewelry or precious metals before, I began researching what kind of equipment I would need and studying the process of fusing metals together. After about 6 months, I had my first designs ready for sale. Being winter and not having tourists available, my wife and I headed out in a snow storm to sell to local stores on Cape Cod. They were so well received, I decided to take the idea on the road and began selling to stores everywhere along the East coast from Key West to Cape Cod. As time went on I continued to create fun and interesting bracelets, necklaces, earrings and more.

After a few years of only making jewelry, I recognized a need in my community for personalized gifts as customers were frequently asking where they could find gifts for groomsmen and bridesmaids that was not jewelry related. The light bulb went on again and I found myself researching engraving equipment and gift lines to fit what I believed customers needed and wanted. After a couple more years I have expanded into the fabulous world of Etsy, hired the best full time assistant Veronica and doubled the size of my store in a new location. Today, I have two locations and 5 employees. I have a second shop here on Etsy called "donebetter" where we sell other personalized gifts such as wallets, cutting boards, glass ware, watches and much more.
