About

So grateful to be able to do what I love with Glass and Pottery!

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, with my husband and two cats. Originally from Canton, Ohio, I had always loved to create. It started with needlework in my younger years, progressed to wood carving (taught by my mother-in-law), then stained glass. After moving to Raleigh, and taking a beginning wheel class at a city-run Art Center (Sertoma), I was hooked from the moment I centered the clay (2001). I was so enthralled with clay and making functional pottery. I still get such a thrill when I grab a mug or bowl from my cupboard, realizing it started out from soft squishy clay – made by me!

All of the ceramics and glass items in my shop, TLGPOTTERY, are made by me. The pottery is mostly wheel thrown porcelain and stoneware, with some hand-built work in there too. I recently took a fused glass (warm glass) class and will be adding some of those items soon.

I have taken many pottery courses at local Art Centers and at mountain craft schools Haystack (Deer Isle, Maine) and Penland (Penland, NC). I am so fortunate to be able to attend these 2 week pottery ‘camps’, and to be taught by some amazing potters: Lisa Naples, Bill Van Gilder, and Sam Chung.

I am so blessed and grateful that I can do what I love (thanks to my supportive spouse Mark)!

I hope you enjoy my pottery for many years to come.
