As usual, great item! Great condition, looks wonderful, thanks!
I have thrifted ever since I can remember. My mother was a fan of going to thrift stores and consignment shops, and my sister and I would go with her. It doesn't seem to be a surprise now that both my sister and I have vintage shops here on Etsy!
Thrifting for me is a relaxing way to spend a morning. I love to go through the racks and look for those little treasures. Sure, you have to look through some non-desirables, but when you have that moment of seeing a cool fabric peeking through and finding an amazing shirt or sweater, it's all worth it.
Back in my 20s, when I was a single gal, no husband, no kids, I started buying vintage kid's clothes. I had a whole box of them that I would move from apartment to apartment, for "one day" when I had kids. The day I had my daughter and realized I could now dress her in these tiny dresses from way back when was the best!
I started adding to her collection, but at the same time I'd find things too small for her, or too boyish for her. I just didn't want to pass them up, I couldn't leave them there! After buying for a friend's vintage shop, I decided to open my own. It has been the best!
My daughter, now four, loves to go through the racks with me, she picks out things she think the shop needs, and I have to say she is getting quite the eye for vintage! My son just chews on hangers, he's not much help. But they both willingly go with me, which is all I can ask for! Hopefully some day they will look back upon those dusty thrift stores with fond memories.
Milwaukee is my home. My husband is a scientist. My kids are goofy and love knock knock jokes. I drink too much coffee, eat too much cake, and watch too many damn house shows.
